I am developer working out of a home office and I have a house full of computer equipment and cabling. I had a stack of CAT5 cables with broken connectors that I finally decided to repair so I ordered two bags of these connectors for the job. I have seen fancier, perhaps better, connectors out there (e.g., The "EZ connect" variety), but I have also personally used worse. These connectors do the job just fine and they're solid, not that hard attach, and fit the RJ45 sockets just fine on all my equipment.
A note on using these with "flat" cables. You can easily use these with rounded CAT5 cables by just picking up a little heat shrink tubing. Just strip a little extra off the CAT5 cable (you'll need to do this to give you enought flex to push the individual wires into the connector anyway), slip a small piece of the tubing over the stripped end, crimp the connection, push the end of the tubing up into the connector, and shrink the tubing with a hair dryer. This works great and creates a cable that has a nice looking, protected end.

Note that this product is intended for flat ethernet cable. There is the R6G088-R-10 product for round ethernet cable. That said, I used this product on round cable and it worked fine. I've never seen a flat cable so it didn't cross my mind that there were different types of connectors before I ordered. Also there are different types of connectors for stranded vs solid conductors. This one appears to be the piercing type which is meant for stranded conductors. I went ahead and used it on my solid conductor wire and it worked fine so far. The type for solid wire is supposed to have forked teeth that grab the solid conductor, but as far as I can tell there is no way to tell what type you have without opening a package and checking it out. Even Belkin's website does not say which type this one is. Considering that I am zero for two on my choice and it still worked, I give this five stars.Customer Review: Good value

These were a deal when I bought them. Went to my local Lowes and Home Depot and were shocked at what it cost to get a couple of these connectors! Came back to the ofice and ordered a few of these and had my routers and hubs rewired with custom cut 1000base-T line and these jacks. These ethernet plugs crimp nicely. Since they are clear, you can check visually to see that you have the correct wires in each of the eight slots before you crimp the plug.
