The Belkin F6C550-AVR is a sleek unit that stands upright with the plug in ports on told which make it much easier to use in tight spaces. I feel better using several of these rather than one large one because of past experience with the general life of many UPS units. These are not expensive to replace and work well.

I am a xubuntu linux user and got this working fine. Do not use the belkin linux drivers or software though, they are worthless. Instead use nut 2.2 or newer (for ubuntu, get it from the hardy release) with the megatec_usb driver. outlets are on top of case. easy to plug in and change plug ins. narrow case width allows backup unit to fit in the space available in my roll around computer cart. This unit set up great. I am using it to backup my DVR and HDTV box. These components wipe out various settings whenever there is the slightest power interruption. This unit has served me well.
