I was nervous after reading some of the negative reviews on this product but still needed a laptop stand for when I'm working on the couch. I am happy to say that the product works incredibly well. It provides great support for your computer and is extremely comfortable to use. I have used the cooling pads with the fans and they do keep your laptop cooler but they are much bulkier and seem to be overkill in my opinion. I think one of the best features is the space in the middle of the cushion because you are able to put your laptop adapter in there. Overall a great product that I use everyday!
Such a great product I just ordered another one for my wife!

This may be the most underestimated accessory for a laptop. Ever since I discovered the CushTop, I cannot imagine using my laptop without it. Forget all those USB powered cooling systems. They are not nearly as convenient as this one on your lap.
It is a simple product with high quality materials and finish and is very light on the lap.
It may be a little difficult to carry around everywhere you go with a laptop like office meetings, presentations etc, but then you don't place your laptop on your lap in those situations. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure almost everyone has enough space to carry this in their luggage, vehicle etc.

After much hesitation whether the Belkin CushTop will properly ventilate my new laptop computer and reading other people's comments to ensure it does the job it said it does, I ordered it on Amazon.com. And I'm happy to report it works really well.
The surface of the CushTop is firm and so it allows that ventilation gap for you laptop's heatsink and fan to operate properly. It offers very good height for typing and viewing the screen when you have it on your lap sitting on the floor or on the sofa, which is where I use my laptop.
All in all, I liked it so much, I got one for each of my two siblings for Christmas.

This product is perfect for my needs. It's soft enough to be comfortable on my lap (either side of the stand), but firm enough to type on without the laptop moving around. It is just the right height and on just the right slant as well. Also, the laptop isn't smothered, so it doesn't overheat while it's on the stand. The price is great too. Why should I pay all that money (upwards from $100) for another type of stand, when this one is all I really need? It serves the purpose just as well as the expensive type, if not better because of the cushioning. I think it deserves an excellent 5 star rating! I use this lapdesk all the time with my Asus Netbook; it's comfortable, light, versatile, and helps keep my lap cool. I've tried adjustable wooden lapdesks in the past, but found those too heavy, cumbersome, and uncomfortable. I've also tried lapdesks that come with a pillow-like base filled with styrofoam beads, but those were too flimsy and the styrofoam quickly compacts until there's almost no cushioning left. They also made my lap get hot. For an amazingly low price, the Belkin Cushtop Notebook Stand is the best by far. I like it so much, I'm buying another one for my husband.
