Customer Review: A perfect marriage!

I have a large 17 inch Gateway laptop that I thoroughly enjoy using. I have been using it along with an ugly medium-density foam pad that is 3 inches thick and 16 inches long by 11 inches wide. It has been quite comfortable but is a hair magnet. Very unsightly!
After reading several reviews about laptop coolers, I decided to get the LAPINATOR PLUS for its longer dimensions than the regular LAPINATOR so I could have that extra surface for a mouse.
When I got the Lapinator Plus I immediately fell in love with the way it helped cool my laptop by keeping it elevated above a "Thinsulate" heat insulating surface. I used it on top of my ugly foam pad, but the angle I was trying to achieve was not quite there yet.
Then I saw the Belkin Cush Top Notebook Stand and I wondered if my LAPINATOR PLUS would rest well on top of it to achieve the ideal angle I was after. I ordered a green one on sale although I would have preferred the brown Chocolate/Blue one.
My LAPINATOR PLUS is longer than the Belkin Cush Top Notebook stand, but it rested on top perfectly! The two products used together gave me the perfect keyboarding angle I was after!
The one review that said the Belkin Cush Top Notebook Stand didn't do anything to appreciably cool a laptop was a mute point with me because I already had that problem solved with my LAPINATOR PLUS.
I was just hoping that the two products would be compatable and they were in absolutely smashing fashion!
The Belkin Cush Top Notebook Stands works perfectly with either the regular LAPINATOR or the LAPINATOR PLUS.
That is why I call the tandem use of these two products as "A PERFECT MARRIAGE!".

I got this for my husband for Christmas last year. We enjoyed the ability to sit comfortably in bed with the laptops so much, that we tried to 'upgrade' to even better lap desks. So far all of them have ended up thrown in the back of the closet and we fight over the Belkin. It's simplicity is it's beauty - it works, no fuss and no moving parts!
He uses it with the flat side against his legs, I prefer to put the angled side against my legs. It's low-tech and that's why it works so well.
I will say this: It did not help with the overheating issue with our old Dell. You couldn't feel the heat on your legs, of course, but the computer got so hot it shut down. With our other laptops - two Toshiba's, a different Dell, an HP and both of my kids' XO's, it works great. So - your odds are good, but there is an off chance you'll end up one of the people that will need a little extra air-movement between the computer and the laptop. (We taped unsharpened pencils to the top and set the Dell on them. We never explored any other solution because we knew we were about to get rid of that computer.)
As a bonus: We use this in my husband's car. The angled side fits nicely into the seat and leaves the flat side up and fairly level. Not for our laptops, though. My daughter is short and his windows are too high for her to see out and she gets car sick. So - my 11 year old SITS on it. I can vouch for it's sturdiness!

I love my Cush Top! It has made my laptop computer a miniature office, complete with a back-up hard drive always connected. The open space has plenty of room for a portable hard drive (I use a WD Passport, which fits easily) and a couple of card readers I often use. I leave the portable hard drive connected all the time so everything is always backed up immediately. I also keep my checkbook (since I bank online), my unpaid bills, and a notepad with pencil in the cavity. And, the cavity still isn't full, making everything easily accessed. I don't use a mouse but even with everything above in place, there is still plenty of room for a wireless mouse for anyone who uses one (mine is a Microsoft wireless mouse) I've read other reviews that indicated a mouse wouldn't fit - mine fits easily, with just enough snugness to keep it from falling out.
The laptop/CushTop arrangement also makes it very convenient to move from room to room with everything in place. It's like a portable desk - very light and easy to firmly grip for safe portability (just keep it level so things don't slide out accidentally).
And finally - my laptop stays cooler than it did before, and my legs no longer burn when I'm computing. Since that was the original reason I bought it, I thought that I should mention that, too. But its other advantages are so "cool" that they almost outweigh my original reason for buying it. I'm very happy with this product.

AMAZON HAS THE BEST PRICE. I realized as soon as i got my laptop I had to have something between it and my skin or anything it sat on. These things get really hot. I didn't want anymore cords hanging so I bought it to try and I love it. My daughter bought me a table at the same time and i never use that.This is great. I've never had my laptop (Toshiba 2 duo) get hot,never shut itself off. When I've been on it a long while I check the temp with my hand and it is just barely warm.The design lets it carry the heat off in two directions. it can't build up in the pad with the opening in the middle. There is an air flow all the time. You can feel the heat coming out of the opening. It does the job, I stuff my mouse in the opening when I am through (stops all that searching, put spare cords in there. it's handsome, I'm going to buy another one for a gift. No problem with fan noise although i hear that the one with a fan (the plastic one) makes no noise either. The price is good and the brand name is reputable. I've used it for several months now and I like it more than I did when it was new. It really works. I check under the laptop and it is never hot. You can feel the draft coming from it taking the heat away. I stay on long enough I build up a lot of heat on my laptop and have no problem getting rid of the heat. It looks good, fits right, stores my mouse, lightweight. I have found nothing wrong with it. I like it a lot.Customer Review: Excellent value. Excellent product.

This stand/pad is highly affordable AND a fine deal. I am using my Cushtop pad with a 15" Macbook Pro, and it's a great pairing. The angle is perfect for keeping the computer from sliding. When I use the Cushtop on my lap, it protects my lap from the heat of the Mac, and protects the Mac from overheating (I have not heard my fan come on once since I've been using the pad). It also provides a much more ergonomic position for the hands while typing than if you were to work right off of your lap (the elbows get to drop down into a much more natural position, easing strain on the upper back and shoulders). When using the Cushtop on a table, I am rewarded with the easier wrist angle as well as additional protection from potential run-ins with spilled drinks.
When I turn my laptop off and wish to set it aside, the inner pocket of the Cushtop provides a handy place to store my powercord and external hard drive. I also think there's one other bonus to using this stand with your laptop--without it, the laptop becomes just another slim, flat item that can get lost under a bunch of papers or in a stack of items on your desk or table. Having the laptop set on the compact, angled stand acts as a deterrent to having other things piled on top, making it less likely that your laptop might slide out from within a pile of documents or books as you pick them up.
