This is a great item it is small enough to use anywhere. My husband really likes the usb access on the end so he can charge his ipod and not have to use his computer. The cord which came with it also works with my motorola cell phone and will charge that. You can not get a cell phone charger from the dealer for less than this item. This was a good unit for the price and handy for road warrior" portable computer applications in hotels or for locations where you bring your portable and data projector and are not sure of the quality of the power (school auditoriums). USB charger works with iPod and other electronics.
If you just want to charge your iPod, you should get the Apple adapter because it is more compact.

I agree that "mini" is not the best word to describe this surge protector but it is not so bulky that it can not be easily stowed for travel. I've taken it on several trips out of the country and it has worked well. The best bonus though is the very useful powered USB outlets. This allows me to charge iPods and my iPhone. Older chargers--even Apples older chargers--will not work for newer generation products.Customer Review: Just what I needed

The product so far has lived up to it's description. I do agree with another reviewer, that it was larger than expected. I got this unit because of the extra outlets (difficult enought to find one in a hotel room) and USB charger ports. The USB ports alone will come in handy charging my Mp3 player and other gadgets. I travel at least once a month and take a few electronic devices with me - netbook, laptop (work), cell phone, iphone, and blackberry. This surge simplys my power needs combined with a iGO USB cable and various tips + usb to mini usb cable. The rotating plug makes install a breeze in tight places. I looked at a simular Staples brand one - but it lacked the rotating plug. I recommend this for travelers!
