Customer Review: Protects from outside damage, however...

I have the black/blue set and I'm currently using the black one.
It's easy to snap on and it protects the back of my iPod from getting scratched... or so you think it protects it.
After a day of usage, I noticed some permanent smudge spots on the back of my iPod Touch 2G, I assumed that it was the silicone case's doing, but I wasn't sure. This uncertainty left me to ignore it until the very next day when I discovered more smudges. Now it's safe to assume that dirt, sand, or dust particles get stuck between the the back of the iPod and the friction causes the two to rub together. Voila, you have these new unwanted smudges.
I placed a piece of tissue between the case and the back of the iPod to reduce the amount of smudges.
It's ironic how a product that's supposed to protect your iPod's finish is ruining it.
I guess I should've gotten a plastic case instead.

I'll keep this review short and sweet. This is a great value. Two cases for the price of one. Good protection, nice fit. If you use the invisible shield, you can still use this case. There is a major downside I have with this case though. It messed up the power buttion on my iPod Touch. If you look at the pictures, the case covers the power button along with the volume buttons. Even though thats a good idea, now my button is stuck in (jammed) and it's not coming out. This really sucks because I wont be able to manually reset the iPod anymore with the power/home button push and hold. I've now moved on to the iPod Touch 4g and have passed that iPod down to my sister. For my new case I just bought, I made sure the power and volume buttons weren't covered!Customer Review: Looks good!

I purchased this accessory for my IPod Touch 2nd gen. and haven't taken it out of its box after using the Ipod for a month. I was worried that the Ipod would be fragile, but now I wouldn't dream about putting anything over the sleek design. So, the case itself is fine for protection. I've dropped my ipod a few times and it kept it unharmed. The thing that makes this case horrible is what it does to the back of your ipod!!! The rubber from the case smudged the mirror back or something! the back is not reflective now, and it is all scratched up too! I gave the other case to my friend, and this happened to his too ! now we both have smudged backs on our ipods that look horrible.Customer Review: Good for everyday but lacking in hard life protection

This sleeve was my first purchase for my new Ipod touch. The sleeves work marginally well for the everyday users that only want to keep it scratch free while walking from the flat to the coffee shop. That's a nice dream but my job involves a lot of traveling, most of that out in the desert where my primary concern is who's shooting at me rather than how my Ipod is doing. I found that too often the edges wanted to slip off and eventually pulled the entire case off if it went unnoticed. I would also bet that the micrometer of rubber around the edge is probably not enough to protect the unit from any sort of significant impact.
Now, I understand the prudent thing to do would be leave it locked back in my tough tote but I take my Ipod with me because it has several key features that I utilize everyday and its a useful tool to balance an already overwhelming amount of information (as well as being a good distraction - there's always time for another episode of Dirty Jobs).
For individuals that are in a similar situation to mine, here's what I did and found useful. Either purchase an Otterbox or the Oakley Iphone rubber armor casing. Combined with my full size Iluv rubber sleeve which extends all the way to the edges of the screen and screen scratch protector, and the Oakley case the device itself is nearly indestructible and the rubber on rubber contact ensure no slippage and increased shock/dust/sand protection.
