It does exactly what it is supposed to do, allow me to hook 4 (self-powering) devices to my tiny X61 notebook. The only thing it can't do is support USB powered devices, like my Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB External Hard Drive. When searching for multi-port hubs in June 2008 I found there are several choices and price ranges out there. I was familiar with the Belkin name and with a price of $11.25 each with no tax and shipping I bought two. I now see that some vendors sell this item for even less. The device works perfectly. I used it in conjunction with a 6' USB extension cable that I already had to provide for more mobility. My PC runs XP Pro and the operating system recognized the new device immediately and I was off and running. Works fine.Customer Review: Fast and easy way to add USB ports to a laptop!!!

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505 laptop which only came with two USB ports. For some reason I did not realize this until it arrived and I couldn't add all my peripherals. So I bought this USB hub and I am glad to say it works great! By plugging this into one of the USB slots on my computer, I now have access to my USB mouse, printer, thumb drive and camera. And my other USB slot is free for my laptop cooler fan.
Very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone needing more USB ports.

PROS:Really small, really thin, handy LED to show you its working, amazingly cheap, all the ports are spaced out to where it is impossible to block one port with another USB plug.
CONS: Pretty much nothing.
FINAL VERDICT: Definitely worth the money.
SUMMARY: This is what I love to see: tech at its finest. Simple, you just plug it in and it works, no damn software required. (I suppose I should thank Microsoft for having generic USB hub drivers available as part-and-parcel of Windows). Highly recommended.

This is exactly what I needed for my PC. I was running out of USB slots since I have a printer, wireless mouse receiver, keyboard, ipod, flashdrive, and camera plugged in. I find the packaging to be a waste of plastic but it's alright because it was very easy to open from the back. I plugged it into my computer and my Windows XP recognized it instantly. The USB Hub is very small and compact, I know I will be able to take it with me anywhere. I even plan on buying another one for my Sony Playstation 3. Thank you Belkin!
