This Belkin hub is just what I was looking for. Now while it is compact and portable, actually I bought it for my desktop unit so that I could expand my USB ports up from 4 to 8 since so many things need to have USB ports these days. I mounted it with a small piece of velcro to the face of my tower so it can be easily removed if need be.
Works great, I can no plug in my 3.5 floppy drive, my printer, my MP3 access line, a digital phone, my Iomega Zip drive, and my Kingston DataTravelers. Very compact, very easy to find a place to use. Good buy.

I purchased this hub because, like many, I had more USB needs than I had ports. It was far more convenient to leave things attached than it was to disconnect things when not in use. Since the USB ports are in the back of the tower, it was a hassel to trace wires to find the "correct" plug each time. This hub allows me to leave everything attached and just activate what I need when I need it. I like the design that keeps cords going in different directions so I can track one easily if I need to. It has been reliable, and it was not expensive. Price and reliability are always issues.Customer Review: inexpensive.

This one's small and inexpensive. I can carry it along with my laptop anywhere in my bag, and I haven't had much issue with it. What else do you really need from USB hub really? As long as it provides extra USB hub spots when you need them, and as long as it's compact enough for you to carry around, and as long as it's not too expensive to buy... it fulfills all those requirements. If you want something that does more stuff, simply look into buying something more expensive and actually states that it'll do more stuff instead of complaining that this doesn't do "something".Customer Review: Belkin USB 2.0 4-Port Mini Hub

This is a huge addition to my Mac Book. With my laptop only having two USB ports packed tightly side by side, it was impossible to have more than 1 USB cable that wasn't slim hooked up. This port has eliminated that problem. It has worked great for me so far speed-wise and functionally. I will run an iPod, PSPgo, printer, phone charger, and camera off of it and I haven't noticed it being too slow with big file transfers. The price and the design(4 ports, each on 1 side of a small square) were huge buying points for me. Overall I am very happy with this product.Customer Review: Simple, small, inexpensive

Another great product from Belkin. I have used it when traveling with my laptop to hook up extra equipment. I have used it at home with my desktop for some added USB-2 level ports. It is great as it is very small and can fit in a shirt pocket, backpack, shoulder bag or purse. It provides you with 4 ports, high speed transfer rates and it is plug and play so NO SOFTWARE required which is always a good thing. If you need more ports for any USB device this would be a great one, if you require more ports you have several good choices right here on Amazon.
