I needed a USB hub for my PS3, and oddly enough this was a difficult decision.
Powered or un-powered?
Expensive or Cheap - why are the prices of these so wide spread?
There are concerns that powered ones can send power back up into the console and damage it, as well as issues of hooking too many peripherals onto it (an un-powered one) and over drawing power from the console.
I have been using this one for a few months and I think I made the right choice.
I have the PS3 with the following peripherals:
- USB Microphone (Karaoke) (Not for me I Swear!)
- Logitech GT Racing Wheel
- Eye (Web Cam & Integrated Microphone)
- External Hard Drive
With all of that how do you plug in a USB Thumb Drive or charge your controllers?
This is a simple solution that works from a legitimate company for a low price.

This product works exactly as its supposed to. After checking many other similar hubs, I decided to get this one. I'm handicapped & use a laptop that has 3 USB ports, so any USB add-ons would also be on my lap too.
Not only did I want additional ports, but my lap was becoming overcrowded. This device, with a 3' extension cable (also from Amazon) has allowed me to relocate my electronics shop to a nearby table. Now I have 7 ports and no device clutter.
Before purchasing the hub I was concerned about problems others had experienced using hubs & extensions. This Belkin hub used with an extension cable from Amazon & then a device has been totally flawless. All USB items I've used have operated just the way they would if plugged directly into the PC.
Once again Amazon & Belkin came through with terrific service - quality items, delivered fast & at a great price.

First, let me start by saying that the seller Vertex is impeccable! They made sure to respond to my emails within hours to address my concerns and it shipped the day I ordered it and arrived 2 days later. Now, the product itself was perfect and just what I needed. I did not have to install anything. Pull it out of the packaging, plug it in, plug in the other devices and there you have it. I may need to purchase 2 more so I will make sure to get them from here as the price is competative and the seller is stallar. Do not hesitate, get this one if you are looking for a reasonably priced, super compact hub. The cord was short but i wasnt walking around with 4 devices attached to my netbook so they can fall too so ignore if people complain about that. How much walking are you doing with things attached to your computer. This product is worth every penny and I am more than happy.Customer Review: Cheap and Works Great

I use this hub on my older G5 Imac and it's been working great for two years. It expands connectivity by allowing more USB devices to connect to your computer than it may have connections for natively.
I have no issues or conflicts with all the devices I have plugged into it and have discerned no reduction in performance or speed. It comes with no power adapter for a wall outlet as it is powered solely by the computer's USB port. I think that's nice, though, as I've already got too much of a wire nest behind my desk.
The cable could be a little longer to suit me, but that doesn't detract from my rating or its usability.
Just plug it in and it works. Haven't tried it on my PC, so I can't speak to whether it works equally well with those. I am very happy with this product and can recommend it. The price makes this a bargain.

I usually don't write reviews, but this one is the exception.
I travel quite a bit and have multiple USB devices with me. My laptop only has 3 USB ports, one of which is constantly being used by my wireless mouse.
Anyway, this this is pretty small and really easy to carry around. It does it's job and does it well, a 4-port usb hub.
BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE...
The last night of my business trip, I had to charge a hand full of things but only had one charger. Luckily, the charger I had was a USB port charger. Thought to myself, I wonder if this thing can charge all 3 things at once? Hummmm. Low and behold, it did. Plugged the hub into the charger, then plugged in all 3 of my devices (phone, bluetooth, external battery). Not only do you get the convenience of a mini USB hub, you also get a USB charger splitter thingy.
