Customer Review: Love those BLUE lights!! This is a well made and "SEXY" hub!

Simply....it works as advertised and that is what I have come to expect from Belkin products through the years. While shopping for a USB hub I came across this Belkin (a trusted brand) and learned it had twin blue leds and a beefy external power supply to handle 7 devices at full load.My search was over!
My laptop,speakers,external drives, etc ALL have blue lights and this hub fits right in. Not too bright at night for me..it's just so cool and SEXY looking. Gets slightly warm but no problem there. I have not heard any tones or such as one other reviewer reported. I have my wireless mouse, 2 - 1TB LaCie external drives and my webcam all attached. It comes with a powerful 3.8A power supply so it can deliver the full .5A max current for it's limit of 7 attached devices if needed. MagicJack users will delight in the improvement this hub gives them. The included power supply 'wall wart' will block adjacent outlets on a regular power strip not designed for AC adapter use. All in all a great addition to my workspace and a sexy blue glow at night...What's not to like?
I do have a few negative crticisms on this product and it's Belkin factory packaging.
#1 The power cord is only about 18" long while the included USB cable is much longer..so the power supply cord is the bottleneck that will dictate where you must locate it. The power cord is even too short to reach from the desktop to my outlet strip on the floor directly benath my desk. Ridiculous and short sighted. Not really a huge issue but it seems odd to have such a short power cord included with a much longer USB cable.
#2 Because it is lightweight and has no rubber fit or grippy bottom surface your attached USB cables can and will drag it around to a neutral balance spot and depending on your setup it may not stay put where you want it to be. Velcro or double sticky tape would be an easy fix. Also adhesive rubber feet (from any dollar store) could be added to help. None were included.
#3 Lastly the huge oversized plastic bubble pack it came in from Belkin nearly broke my heavy duty kitchen scissors trying to open it....not Amazon's fault as(to their credit)have adopted a hassle-free packaging poilicy. Belkin must have had shoplifters in mind as it is a really oversized plastic monster of a packaging scheme with extra heavy guage plastic. Way overkill IMHO.
