Installed in back of computer monitor(I have an all in one desktop) with a 3 inch hole saw through wooden oak desk. Fits exactly as it should. No further modifications of the hole was necessary. This is a (4) hub unit. This attaches to the computer from underneath, hence the 4 visible ports on top are all active. Have printer, scanner, external drive and keyboard attached without problems. Was able to clean up all cables making the area somewhat more organized. The blue light could be somewhat a negative as another reviewer has stated, but mine is installed behind computer, so not an issue for me. There are many different types of additional hubs available-most are the portable type. This one does the job and looks and organizes the desk area just a bit more appealing.
