Because of a bad back, I often have to use my laptop while sitting in bed. The Belkin Cushtop makes that a much more pleasant experience than it used to be. The Cushtop holds the computer steady so that it doesn't slide off and it keeps the heat from burning my legs. It has a firm, solid feel and is not really "cushy," which is a good thing. i don't have any issues with the belkin notebook stand. it's high enough for me to use on the couch. the middle hole to insert battery and cables is a little small, but i don't care for it since this notebook stand is in one location. i have a new laptop so I cannot say if this notebook stand prevents my laptop from overheating.Customer Review: Kona Barb

I live in Hawaii and my 17-inch laptop feels miserably hot on my lap.
I recently purchased this product in green; it holds my laptop very securely, the height is comfortable, the fan works perfectly and best of all, my lap stays cool. I am very pleased with this notebook stand and highly recommend it.

I purchased this notebook stand in January 2009 and I am very pleased with it. I can lay in bed and use my laptop without any problems. Before I bought it I would use pillows, but the pillows would get extremely hot after a few minutes. I no longer have this problem. I love this item so much! I have to use it flipped over from what the pictures show. I use this on my bed and even on my lap. Its great to keep a notebook and pen in the little storage area. Too bad a mouse won't fit but thats just fine. Do note that its not as soft as most would think. It is a very hard foam.
