I do not really know what to say about this item except that it is a cable. Yep it is!!! :o)However, when I bought my printer, I didn't know the USB cable didn't come with it (Mister salesperson at Sears didn't feel obligated to tell me I guess!!), so I had to find one. After looking around I found out that Belkin was the most famous and reliable brand for computer cables, and others... Brand doesn't make a big difference for me usually, but as far as electronics are concerned I want to be able to get the best, so I went for Belkin... The Belkin website didn't really offer the best price (I wouldn't have thought so!!). However, Amazon did!!
I've had the cable for about 2 months... I actually forgot about it because I never had any problems with it. The connection between the printer and my computer was done right away, without ANY problems.
I would definitely go for Belkin again if I needed to.

I purchase a new ink-jet printer from a very well known computer store ... I wonder who that might be... hehe! But getting back to the review ... As most of you know, a lot of USB devices don't come with a USB cable. The same thing applied when I purchased my new printer. The clerk who sold me the printer suggested I purchase a USB cable along with my printer ... the asking price: $29.95 for a 8 foot long cable. I told him "NO". Then purchased this cable on Amazon for $10.95 which included shipping. The only thing that got to me about this deal was that the shipping cost more than I paid for the USB cable. Oh well! This is an exceptional buy for under seven dollars! (this currently retails between $20 - $25 at local electronic stores) Although you can buy generic for a few dollars cheaper, you are guaranteed quality and a lifetime warranty through Belkin.Now to the product - This is a 6' USB 2.0 (A plug/B plug) device cable. It is both Windows and Macintosh compatible.
I found 6' to be an adequate length for the reach from the device(e.g. printer, scanner, etc) to the back of the computer/hub. They do have longer cables available though. Note that your device must have USB support(as most now do). However, the device doesn't have to be USB2.0 as the cable is backward compatible.

I decided to purchase this cable after noticing that Dell Computers offers it online at its online store, which it often bundles together with other data transfer hardware. So I decided that if this cable is sufficiently well-made for Dell to offer it at its online store, then it's one I had to consider seriously as a USB cable linking my laptop computer with a brand new laser printer. Without question, I made the right decision. I am quite impressed with its excellent data transfer speed, superb workmanship and ease of use. This particular USB cord is nice because of the plastic molding around high stress areas. (like all the Belkin stuff I've seen) The molding is it's most unique feature. It's well made and it works with hubs, printers, USB Hard Drives. Belkin is a good name (but usually priced for the retail market) I honestly bought because the on-line price was as good as the off-brands but good quality. I've seen the same exact cable in the stores for $30 or more
I'm using as a printer cable for the past month with no problems. It's also backward compatible with USB 1.1.
