Rotating flat plug is excellent, you can pretty much accomodate any need without blocking plugs, and it really is quite flat. This is just an inexpensive power strip and that's great. I probably have 10 power strips around my house, and who wants to pay a lot for them?
I notice a reviewer complaining about fried equipment. If I had anything expensive to plug in, I'd put it on a Cyberpower or APC UPS with AVR. I don't expect any power strip to do much to protect against big power spikes. Even a high-priced power strip is still just feeding you raw power out of the wall with some sort of switch-to-ground in case something spikey comes along. With the Automatic Voltage Regulating UPS you can get clean power and even Pure Sine Wave output but you won't get that in a cheap little power strip.

You can get these in your neighborhood stores but the price is better from Amazon but only when you can avoid the shipping costs. I own at least 3 of these and it fits great behind refridgerators and head boards where you don't want your items (headboards, refridgerators, dressers) to touch the walls but to not stick out so far from the wall that items can fall behind them due to thick plugged extension cords. The nice thing is that the plugs have swivels, so you can control the direction you want the cord to come off the wall out of the outlet! Great design!!! I really like the rotating plug on the Belkin 6-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with Rotating Plug and 8' Cord, because it enables me to plug it in without blocking the other outlet.
The recessed switch is also a nice feature. It is rare that I accidentally turn a power strip off, but when it is near your feet, it certainly can happen.

We've had it for several weeks, running a microwave, a coffee maker, and a water boiling pot. As long as only one thing at a time is drawing full power, no problem. It popped its little breaker when we tried to make two things work hard at once--as it should. Nothing has melted or caught on fire. I suppose the people who had problems just had bad luck to get a faulty unit. This one's fine.Customer Review: Great surge protector with flat plug.

I got this surge protector for the flat plug so I could move some shelving closer to a wall. This worked great. The flat plug rotates into position as needed and plugs in without any problems. I currently only have an alarm clock/cd player and lamp plugged and haven't run into any issues like some of the other reviews have mentioned. I'd recommend this surge protector.
