Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin 12-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with Phone/Ethernet/Coaxial Protection and Extended Cord

Customer Review: Great design!
Summary: 5 Stars

Boy, I love the design of this surge protector! I use one for my home theater and one for my home computer setup. It really simplifies the connections in both rooms and feels solid. I like the slide-over outlet covers for unused slots. Also, the units I have come with two different ways to connect ethernet cords. The first is a regular one-input/one-output connection on the top of the unit and the other is a one-input/splitter output, meaning that I can easily connect both my phone and computer at the same time. This splitter connection is on the side of the surge protector, to the left of the coaxial connection, so its hard to see in the Amazon photo. Anyway, the Belkin really seems to have everything and at a great price. Its too bad I'll only know whether it actually protects my stuff if the house takes a shot of lightning! So far, the unit's great.

Customer Review: Highly recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely love the adapter friendly design of this surge protector. I use it for my PC, and every single power cord in that general area passes through this thing. Connected are the PC, the monitor, the printer, the speakers, the cordless phone, the force feedback joystick, the router, the DSL modem, and a bluetooth charger. So I am using most of the slots, and have yet to encounter any issues. Thankfully my house hasn't been struck by lightning yet, but having this between my PC and the power outlet is a definite peace of mind.

But honestly, it's the design that takes the cake. I can fit up to 6 large adapters with absolutely no problem (and you probably have plenty of those around a PC). On other surge protectors, adapters would take up 2 or even 3 spots. Not with with one. So far it has performed great, and I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: This thing works
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a real critical guy and this thing works. I'm an IT Manager at a manufacturing company and I had 2 of these protectors at either end of a couple of adsl modems linking buildings through a phone line. We get frequent lightening strikes and I had a couple of modems fried previously. I got these units and ran the phone lines through them and then out to the modems. Sure enough we had a lightening strike and we were trying to figure out why the computer wouldn't connect to the network. I plugged the modem directly into the phone line and it worked, showing that the surge protector took the hit. It happened on the other adsl modem to. Saved $800 for the pair of modems. It would be really cool if you could buy replacement parts for the stuff in the protector that gets burned out (Sorry, I'm a cheapskate). But other than that thanks Belkin.

Customer Review: Great product, with a superb warranty!
Summary: 5 Stars

Compared to many of the other surge protector deals out there, this one provides the best protection (~4000 joules w/ a 1ns response time) and warranty coverage (up to $300,000) for your dollar.

I read every line of the fine print in the warranty, and Belkin will no-kidding provide you replacement gear (subject to Belkin inspection, but that's to be expected anyways, right?) as long as your equipment was connected (properly) to this surge protector during the surge/strike. Not that I want to ever have to test that warranty (e.g. have lightning strike my house, equipment) but it sure is nice to know I don't have to be paranoid every time the power flutters or blips!

Also, the thin profile and spacing of outlets makes this very easy to use! I highly recommend this as a way to protect your AV and computer equipment.

Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product. This is my 3rd one. Just plug everything in and your covered. Several years ago I lost a TV and a Surround Sound Amp to power surges. Sense then I have been building up 3 Home Theater and Computer Systems. At the top of the list for each system is a Belkin surge protector.

The area I live in, in Phoenix is prone to power surges, and I have never lost a piece of equipment that was plugged into the Belkins.

Belive me, power surges are VERY BAD THINGS. The power surge that killed my old SS Amp caused a BANG to emit from the speakers, that was so loud, my first thought was, someone had fired a weapon outside my bedroom window. But then I smelled the arcid odor of burnt up electronics.

Do yourself a favor and plug your valuable electronics into one or more of these surge protectors.
