Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin 12-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with Phone/Ethernet/Coaxial Protection and Extended CordCustomer Review: (almost) exactly what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
I looked far and wide for a power strip with this many transformer "brick" outlets. This one takes the cake. I'm able to plug in my entire computer setup--CPU, monitor, speakers, printer, desk lamp, etc., with outlets to spare and no extra adapters. The phone/ethernet/cable protection is another good feature. So you don't need to worry about getting zapped through that either.
In addition to versatility, the quality's high as well. My home office is in the basement, and we had a storm that resulted in a stream of water from one corner to the other. I found the power strip literally sitting in water, but nothing was damaged. Which brings me to another feature--slits on the back so you can mount it to the wall, preferably before the rain... What would be even stronger is a hole that I could put a screw through while holding it against the wall, but this seems to work so far.
All in all I've never been as excited about a power strip as I am about this one.
Customer Review: I agree - best surge protector Summary: 5 Stars
This thing has everything I need. Has a $300,000 connected equipment warranty. 12 outlets - good for 2 computers with all the works. Has cable in and out, Ethernet in and out. Fax in and out. I feel like my computers are pretty well protected with this. Has a light to indicate whether it is grounded or not. I guess If lightening strikes, it goes down the grounding mostly (one of the other reviewers hinted at this). Has safety covers for outlets not used (in case you have tiny children, I guess - though probably would be best to put those outlet covers on it, instead, in case they could open it - maybe it's also to keep dust out). The only drawback for me, is when I purchased it it was $24, and now it's selling for cheaper on amazon, I think 19.99. Well, you can't win them all. It is only $5.00 cheaper now. I should have bought a book or something and gotten free shipping for orders over $25, also, as shipping was $6.00. Oh well, live and learn.
Customer Review: Great surge protector with one small issue Summary: 5 Stars
I'm currently using this surge protector for my computer room in my apartment, and it has enough outlets for two Xbox 360s, two monitors, two pairs of speakers, two PCs, a battery charger, printer, network switch, and I've still got an open outlet. Prior to this, I was using a 7 outlet surge protector, also from Belkin, and was constantly switching plugs. I need to play Xbox with a friend, well, I guess I don't need the printer right now. Wait, actually I do, let me switch to headphones for a bit and unplug my speakers. Dang, that was the network. Guess we'll have to start that level over.
The only problem I've seen with this surge protector is that unplugging devices has popped out the sliders that block the outlets. They pop back in fairly easily, but I'm sure I'm going to lose them before too long. I guess the good thing is that I don't need to plug and unplug nearly as often anymore.
Customer Review: Works well without any problems Summary: 5 Stars
This surge protector is superior to the standard linear surge protector because it can handle the bulky AC adapters.
For a long time, the main problem with the standard linear surge protector has been its inability to accommodate the bulky plastic AC adapters without taking up 2-3 spots. This surge protector will accommodate AC adapters of all sizes.
I live in Los Angeles where there are very few lightning strikes so surge protection wasn't a high priority. I bought this surge protector, however, to replace two standard linear surge protectors and it did that fantastically well.
I have two computers, monitor, printer, DSL modem, Wireless Router, PS3, USB hub, and desk lamp all plugged into this surge protector and it accommodated them all and had 4 extra outlets left.
Now, the clutter below my desk is MUCH better organized.
Customer Review: Best Surge Protector Summary: 5 Stars
When my new HDTV arrived, I realized I had forgotten to order a new surge protector. So I ran to Best Buy and purchased a crappy, overpriced Monster "home theatre" surge protector. After paying almost $40 for the stupid thing, I got home only to find that not only could I not fit all of my plugs into the narrow row of outlets, but the surge capacity was much too low for my beloved new big screen. I immediately went to Amazon.com and purchased this Belkin, like I should have done from the beginning. And it's perfect: wide-spaced outlets for wider plugs means you can use *ALL* 12 outlets (even with big, fat A/C adapters plugged in!); a 10' cord so you can run it to where you need it; low-profile, right angle plug means it will fit behind furniture easily, and plenty of joules to feel safe with. It's perfect! I returned the Monster, saved $15, and got a much superior product.
