Customer Review: Does what it needs to do FOR CHEAP

I never understood the issue with $30-100 cables, such as these optical ones or HDMI and such.
This cable does its job, I hooked up my Playstation 3 to my 5.1 sound system and it sounds incredible with Dolby Digital. For a cable that cost me $4.00 total, it's absolutely worth it. There is nothing wrong with the sound quality at all and there is no need to buy a more expensive cable.
However, the cable is very thin. But for the price, its practically disposable anyway so it doesnt matter. And despite its thinness, I've travelled with it many times, hooking it up, and it hasn't torn or anything.

This was a heavier duty cable than expected. A satisfyingly thick cable with solid connectors. It looks and sounds perfect and is much better made than several other toslink cables I use for other receivers and my PS2.
Sounded perfect and was shipped well.
You'd be crazy to buy a more expensive cable.
This cable is useful for digital audio signals, such as that which is output by a PS2 or PS3. Many receivers accept optical but do not accept HDMI input. This is a great way to get surround sound on a cheaper or simply older surround setup, and the quality is terrific.

I have purchased 4 of these cables over the last several months and I have no complaints. This is one of those "it works or it doesn't" kind of things. 5 stars or 1 star. And this is definitely 5 stars. The build quality is solid, and there is no difference in audio quality between this cable and a $40+ optical cable from one of those other companies.
Same goes with HDMI cables, by the way. All these great reviews don't lie. I was skeptical at first but at this price you can afford to take the risk, although there really isn't a risk. It just works. Stop reading this and order some cables.

I purchased 6 of these optical cables and they work just fine, no excellent. I use it on my PS3 for music and DVDs. I recommend these to any looking for an inexpensive optical cable that works excellent for the PS3 and my Denon receiver, Klipsch Quintet speakers (2)Klipsch SW10 powered Subwoofer 300-500watts, (2)Baby Advent, Samsung 40" LCD, Nintendo Wii, Sony DVD/CD/MP3 player all have been made better with the optical hookup, sound quality clear,clean,crushing,cool the 4 c's of my standard of sound. AMAZON.COM has done it again with the best price around.

When I read some of the reviews, I was a bit worried that the cable won't stay in place etc, but that wasn't the case. It fits just fine (both ends) and the speakers sound very good.
Pros:
- The cable works as expected
- Fits fine and stays in place
- Price ~2$
Cons:
- It arrived 9 days after I placed the order (right on the deadline of the estimated delivery date), but it shipped for free so I cannot really complain.
Other thoughts:
- I don't see why someone would pay more for a digital cable.
