This unit is well worth the money and the sound comparison to the $100 units by other manufacturers is SO superior.
It has excellent sound at low, medium, and high volumes. It is light weight. Battery use is long. I have gone at least 2 hours with no problems - I just haven't had reason to go beyond that yet.
Some complain of having to use the remote. You don't have to - the unit has volume controls, and everything else can be run from the Ipod itself. But the remote is easy to use and has good range.
For someone like me who works and plays with music on constantly the Portable Sound Dock is a great value.

This has to be the best sounding truly portable Ipod station on the market. I squirmed a bit at first over the price, then said "what the heck" after looking and listening to other systems. I'm glad I did.
Sounds great - like systems much larger in size even at high volume. Battery lasts for hours. Recharges easy.
I would recommend getting the separately sold carry bag. (I did) that way your Ipod, charger, and remote can all travel together conveniently and well protected.
The only down side I can think of is - at this price they should have included a radio tuner.

My husband and I just purchased a 160GB IPOD and downloaded every song from our CD library on it. We wanted a player that we could take to parks when we were with the kids. This machine is clear and loud- we love it! It is easy to tote around and it sounds awesome! My biggest worry is that it will get stolen when we are on an outing, but we keep a close eye on it. At night, we have been taking it out on the patio when we are in our spa. It's just so convenient! We love it, and the sound is terrific. The Bose Portable Soundock for iPods does not disappoint. The sound quality is superb and the design is flawless. The base sound is deep and full; the treble is clear. The remote is fairly intuitive. The battery life is also pretty impressive. The portability (light weight and ease to carry) is most compelling. It works perfectly with my large iPod purchased four years ago and with my brand new Apple iPhone 4. This is a must-have item but like all Bose products, it does not come cheaply. I received one for Christmas last year (2007) and have used it extensively. It even provided background music for a party of 100 people in a huge party room. People could not believe the sound was coming from this small thing. The quality and sound of the music is untouchable. The battery has lasted over 4 hours at a time with the volume pretty loud. Incredible! And I have not had a single problem. I have used it with 3 different ipods (2 different nanos, classic 80 gb, and ipod touch) and all work just fine. Well worth the money!!
