This is like a point-and-shoot camera...it's small, easy to use & gives you great results every time! Sure you can get ones with more bells & whistles that you really don't need, but if you just want crystal clear sound every time without having to adjust the levels every time a different style of music comes on, I recommend this. It is pricey, but it's so easy to use & will produce perfect sound at ALL volumes (this baby hardly sounds distorted, even when the volume is uncomfortably loud).
The remote is very easy to use and works from far away and when pointed in a different direction.
This works with my iPhone too...phone calls & emails come in without that annoying interference noise.

I waited quite awhile before I purchased the Bose SoundDock because like most I couldnt see paying that type of money for portable speakers. However, after researching others I was not impressed. I have purchased Bose before for my home so I knew the sound quality would be top of the line. I was not disappointed. I love the remote, touch volume on the side and the fact that it charges my ipod when Im not using it. I had the ipod nano and upgraded to the itouch and its a nice fit. You cant go wrong with Bose. Yes they are pricey but Ive had my home speakers for 6-7 years and they sound the same as when I bought them. I take my portable speakers with me to workout at the park no cords necessary!!Customer Review: One Year Later - STILL Thrilled with SoundDock

I bought my portable Bose SoundDock one year ago and I am STILL happy with my decision. I love the sound quality, I love the fact that it re-charges my ipod while it plays, I love how portable it is, and I am amazed at how long the battery lasts. We use this for camping, for get-togethers outside, for around the house - it has virtually replaced my stereo. Now, it obviously does NOT sound as good as my stereo... but the great sound combined with the portability and the ease of use of the ipod simply trumps my beloved stereo.
I'd love to get a second one of these actually but the price has not come down yet over the past year. It would nice if it came with a carrying case, too.

i own this and HK Go+Play and Kicker Ik500. First of all if you are hip hop or trance or heavy metal and looking for a good bass, heavy bass, this is not for you. Go with HK or Kicker.
I'm using this to listen to Vocal, Pop, Soft Rock, Rock, Chillout music, they are sound so real, sound like a a whole bands are playing right in front of you. The sound of Vocals is just so close to you, like next to your ears.
And year it's reachargeable the battery will last you for more than 5 hours of music, and it's weight less than 5 pounds.
Pros: Small, light weight, excellent battery, sound so real.
Cons: Not so good at Bass for a hip hop or trance fans.

Fantastic sound, so good and clear that actually enhances the original media. I have played classic Rock & Roll music of the 70's & 80's and the sound is better than the original. I have played this Bose marvel on an open beach at medium volume, many people have enjoyed the music from 50+ yards away, even more so in open water.
Many peoples are very curious when they hear the sound
from this unit and are amazed at its quality.
I use it as my ipod dock and also for my MP3 devices. I have had no tecnical problems at all. The remote control feature allows selection of various music types thru the iPod device. I raccomend it to anyone that enjoys good music sound.
