Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Bose SoundDock Portable Digital Music System (Gloss Black)Customer Review: Portability and Sound Quality Summary: 5 Stars
I love my Bose Sound Dock Portable digital music system! The reason I know a lot about this product is my son owns one. There are two main reasons I bought this product: First reason, portability meaning the ability to bring it anyplace I want specially when I travel. Before leaving home, I make sure it's fully charged so that I don't need to look for electrical outlet to plug it in when I have it with me away from home and specially when I go to the park. Second reason, sound quality. I tried to compare the sound quality from other name brands but in my own personal opinion, Bose sound quality is still the best. I love the fact that I can connect it to my iPad and when I'm in my kitchen cooking or eating, I turned on the iPad and listen to Pandora or Jango internet radio station and sometimes I watch a movie on Netflix. Or I dock my iPod and just simply enjoy listening to my favorite collection of songs. I bought this product in November 2010 with discount, free shipping and no sales tax at Amazon.com.
Customer Review: Outstanding in every way! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had the Bose Sounddock portable for 2 and a half years now. Obviously, I have had an ample amount of time to use it in many different settings and listening to a wide variety of music genres. Aside from the "ouch" factor of price, this device is incredibly outstanding in every conceivable way. Its portability is beyond convenient. The battery lasts around 3-4 hours. I use it mostly when I work out. I have used it in the garage while doing work, outside and with various numbers of guests in the house. Whether classical, classic rock, hard rock, metal, jazz or hip-hop, the Bose Sounddock has never sounded anything less than spectacular. Outside, I cranked the volume and it had the power the old boombox I had 25-30 years ago. At the perfect volume, you would mistake it for a stereo system. Once you get over the price, you'll eventually wonder how you ever did without it. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys music, expects high quality sound, and for whom portability is a factor. You will not be disappointed!
Customer Review: Some complain about price. NONE complain about sound quality. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the top of the line ipod dock in the store - the Sony RDP-XF100iP
Hands down it was the best sounding out of all 10 that were on display. I was seriously considering buying it. The typical "poo poo"ing of the BOSE system due to cost came from every single store rep. They didnt even carry it.
I bought the Sony. And then went and bought the BOSE.
And i sat them next to eachother playing House/Electro House music (extreme highs, midranges, and lows all together).
It was almost laughable how bad the Sony sounded in comparison to the BOSE. Almost as if I was shocked they could sell it with a clear conscience. And the Sony was the best out of *ALL* the other ones in that particular store. The Logitech with all the great reviews - LOL!!! I had to laugh.
And the best of the best paled in comparison to the sound quality the BOSE puts out. Spend the money.
Customer Review: Excellent system Summary: 5 Stars
The older ipod fits into the dock and music plays, but only one song will play and then it stops. If I pull the ipod off the dock and then reseat it, the next song will play. (could be OK for a 20 minute Widespread Panic tune !) I can't even fast forward with the remote (only the volume works thru the remote). I thought that updating the ipod software might help, but it did not. I don't think we got a lemon since the sounddock does work fine with a newer ipod. We heard the SoundDock at a friend's party and were impressed with the quality of the sound as well as the volume that was attainable (without distortion) with such a small unit. We already owned several Bose products, so no big surprise on the "quality of sound to product cost" ratio. One HUGE unpleasant surprise, however, is that it does not work properly with our older ipod. (Not sure which generation ipod it is, but it's about 5 years old, has a click wheel and no video).
Customer Review: Best portable speaker system! Summary: 5 Stars
I spent countless hours researching portable speaker systems. After reading many web site and owner reviews I narrowed my choices down to four models. The first model was the Altec Lansing InMotion im7. I wasen't able to find this model in any store so I could listen to the sound quality for myself, so I eliminated it. The others were also Altec Lansing based on good reviews. First up was the InMotion im600, Second was the m602 and last the Bose SoundDock Portable. My final decision came down to the ability to listen to these three models side by side.
There wasen't any real comparison after a listen to the Bose. They blew the other two away. Great base and great highs. I was sold. I do realize the Bose are pricy but like most people out there, these are not my first IPOD speakers but the will be my last. Go for it and get the best first. The Bose are the way to go!
