I read many reviews that these speakers create distortion at higher volume level. Well, if your goal is to shatter your windows, this is not your set. But if you just need high quality sound for your immediate surrounding near your computer (or for that matter, little space around your iPod), this set produces ample sound. While bass may not be overwhelming, it is definitely there. And it doesn't compromise mid to high range either. This set maintains high quality sound at lower volume level. I thought that lack of treble and bass control would bother me, but no, I didn't need them at all, as it sounds good right out of the box. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it, but at the current price range, it is a good deal.Customer Review: Excellent computer speakers

I bought this a year or so ago, and the sound is just amazing. I'm not a particular Bose fan, but for $99 the clear, rich, solid sound from these speakers is great! I have them placed on either side of my monitor on my desk, and sitting right there in front of them the sound is PERFECT. Even the bass lines sound great, which was unexpected. I consider myself to have a discerning, demanding ear and I love these speakers. I will say that if POUNDING BASS AT HIGH VOLUMES is your main requirement, you can get that from cheap speakers with a bass box. But you won't get sound quality like this, not even close. For the money I am VERY happy with my purchase and would highly recommend them to anyone else.

I sold my Bose SoundDock to get these speakers. Hooking them to my MacBook Pro gave the same great Bose Sound and let me use the MacBook Pro's "ON-Screen" Remote! I was able to scroll through all the songs in my iTunes files and see what I was doing from acroos the room. The sound is so great I can watch movies and have even bought a large LCD Hi-Def flat screen to enjoy the movies on. Laptops are not known for great speaker sound. They give the space up to everything else. These speakers are worth the money. What most people don't know is an iPod can be hooked up to this or any other sound source. These are very versatile since they are powered speakers and being made by Bose doesn't hurt either!Customer Review: Great Speakers.

Ok, we are taking about 2.0 speakers and I don't want to compare this with Dolby or 3.1 or 7.1 or what ever.
These are great computer speakers, I have the laptop connected to my HDTV but for sound, the output from the laptop goes to these bose speakers.
The sound quality is very very good for the desktop speakers.
Now I have connected the output of the HDTV to the bose speakers, now watching movies and playing games on ps3 has a different effect than before (with tv speakers)
I will definitely recommend this product to anymore.
I got this speakers for $99 3 years back and it is still the same, and the speakers are still doing well.

I never had a feel of Bose Speakers. So, was very excited when I received the products. The sound output is excellent. Initially I thought there might be no woofer output as in other normal speakers. But, I found that the woofer'r are in-built into each of the speakers. And the power of the speakers is excellent. Good Surround sound. One more thing I liked is that, there is no control for Bass/Treble separately. Only Volume control is there. Thus the Bass/Treble output is only controlled by the Software Media Player.
Also, there is no Power button. So, the speakers are always powered ON, until the power cord is unplugged from the socket.
Overall it has great performance. 5 stars :-)
