It is a compact shredder that serves my purpose of junk mail and other things I don't want to just throw away. It is fast and efficient. It is a sleek, black color and doesn't take up much room. This is my 2nd shredder and 1st crosscut. The crosscut is a far better design because it shreds more finely and the waste paper is much mre compact, taking less space in the trash. I just wanted an inexpensive shredder for home use. I went through two other cheaper units and had to return them both. This one works great. I love this thing- it takes 8 sheets of paper extremely well, shreds everything down to 1/4" by 1" or so, even takes credit cards. I have shredded an entire file cabinet full of documents and it has done it with out a hitch. No jamming, it shuts off as advertised when there is no paper in it to shred and turns on automatically when paper is inserted. For a little machine it does excellent.
