Have had this for a few months now and it's been very good. It shreds reasonably quickly, can do some mail without having to open it (though sometimes those stupid credit card offers can come in a rather thick envelope - don't try that without opening it). Easy to empty and the auto mode works well. I haven't hit the thermal cutoff yet. The pieces are fairly small. Probably not the best security out there but seems good enough. Better than a strip shredder for sure. Overall a very good buy in my opinion.Customer Review: Works Great!

This is my second Aurora shredder - the previous one lasted for 4 or 5 years before seriously slowing down - it didn't actually stop working. So far so good, it easily handles 8 sheets and a single credit card (not together). If I had a complaint it would be that the basket is a bit small, I find I'm emptying more frequently than I did with the previous model. Also the basket is completely enclosed so you can't slip other papers in there without shredding, which I used to do with the previous model.Customer Review: Aurora AS890C Shredder

I was very pleased with this shredder. As I have purchased several shredders over the years, this is by far the best. It is quiet, compact and powerful. Perfect size for anyone who may do a fair amount of shredding as it does not take up too much space on a desk surface.
I highly recommend this shredder.

Does as well or better than expected. Much easier and better job than the ancient shredder I used to have (but then, it did a good job-it was 20 years old!). Would give 4.5. Only "complaint" is wish it had an "on" so that you could just run without inserting a sheet (rarely, paper goes crooked and leaves a piece sticking out on side, which could be rectified by "on"). Minor "problem". Just stick a new sheet to take care of that, but again, wish it had "on." Otherwise, it is a really good product.Customer Review: Nice and small

This shredder is one of the best purchases that I have made on Amazon so far. This is a nice, small and compact shredder and I have not had any problems. I like the fact that when you take the shredder part off of the "basket" (for lack of a better word) it stops working until you put it back on. I don't know if all shredders are like that but I have curious little kids so the fact tht the shreddder only works when it is all togeter is important to me. I would reccommend this to anyone!
