I am giving this unit 5 starts not for what it has done, but for what it has not done: it has not jammed, broken, hiccupped, or annoyed me in any way. I was wary of purchasing a sub-$50 shredder for my home office, but the specs looked exactly like what I needed. 8 sheets at a time or 1 credit card at a time is sufficient, and money was tight.
I've had this unit now for about a week and have shredded a few hundred pages and a couple of credit cards with no issues. If I could change anything about it, I would make it quieter. That being said, I would definitely buy it again exactly like it is. I doubt there is another one this good for the price.

This paper shredder is everything I hopped it would be. It is much quieter then the one we had been using, and can handle several pages of mail with little effort. I didn't expect it to handle an unopened envelope or a lot of pages of mail at one time, but it can. It does sound much louder when you over load it, and I would suggest not doing so. I like the clear window in the front to let you know when it is getting full and the container is large enough for normal amounts of weekly mail.
We have had this for awhile and it has never jammed up on us.
For the money, this is a great item and has been working perfectly for our family.

Haven't had it long enough to rate the durability, and I haven't shredded a credit card yet. But based on everything else, I have no doubt this shredder will perform just like it ought to. I don't try and shred 8 or 10 pages at a time, so I've never had a jam. But I think the thing I like most about it is this: the instructions say to lubricate it by putting a little vegetable oil on a piece of paper and shredding it once a month. No expensive lubricants! Just use what you've already got (actually, we use coconut oil for all out cooking -- much better for you).
Great shredder. Nothing disappointing about it.

I have read many reviews and I wonder if some of the problems could be resolved if after a bit if shredding, you used some 3in1 oil. Mine was not cutting well and I went on the web to look for another and noticed the ads for lubricating oil (with outragious prices). I tipped my oil can point down into the shredding teeth and ran a shot of oil the length of it. I am now using my old shredder with great results. OK, I was a fool who didn't follow directions. I slipped this baby post-it notes for months before it jammed on me. I knew I wasn't supposed to, but did anyway. Mea culpa. I am going to buy a new one, and follow directions to a T. I'll have no problems, this go-round. It shreds paper, credit card and even cds w/no trouble whatsoever. I love it. You will, too. Just remember, no stickies, no labels on envelopes. If you follow directions, you'll love it. If you don't follow directions, you only have yourself to blame! It really isn't that onerous. :)
