I needed a small home office shredder to replace an old one that broke so I cheaped out and bought the Universal 6-Sheet (see my review on that piece of junk). I returned that and bought this Aurora and man, what a difference. I've only had it for a day and have not had a chance to use the CD shredder (but I did shred a credit card). This is a quality shredder and I am very happy with it. My only criticism is that the basket is far too small so I use it on top of a medium size bin instead. It has the capability to extend so it can fit on a variety of other baskets or bins. Having said that, the extender arm is a little flimsy and seems to be struggling to hold its own wait when extended (sort of like if you were sitting in a chair and had your foot up on something with your leg straight and someone was sitting on your knee - ouch). Hopefully it will hold up. But the shredder itself is high quality from what I can see.Customer Review: the Aurora AS810SD/ this is a good product I give it a thumbs up

The Aurora AS810SD/ is a very good product. I had look at paper shredders in the neighborhood where I live what I found was, paper shredders at this price I was tole was cheap and ineffective even for things like one sheet of paper, that they were always jamming. The shredders like the aurora was way out of my price range going for $60 to $100.00. But at amazon I was able to purchase theAurora AS810SD 8-Sheet Strip Cut Paper/CD/Credit Card Shredder with Basketfor 29.95 it has been marvelous, It works very efficiently taking on up to 8 sheets of paper at one time. Note: {that is that the Aura can shred 8 sheets at one time, I never insert this many sheets though}. In the past I've had bad luck with shredders - both the strip type and the cross-cut type. This one seems different. It sounds more powerful, and although I've only had it for a month, I feel quite confident that I have finally chosen a peach instead of a lemon. This time I looked on-line first. I would have preferred a cross-cut model but really did not find any that were well-reviewed at what I considered a reasonable price. This model seemed to have really good reviews, and the price was right at Amazon. I have no regrets so far, and the machine has as good a guarantee as any of the others I read about, so I feel confident for the future. I haven't tried running more than a couple of sheets at a time, just to do my best not to screw it up, though it is reputed to have a 6-sheet capacity.Customer Review: Excellent value for the money

I didn't want to spend too much on a shredder, given that it's for personal use. However, at the same time I didn't want to be a cheapskate and run the risk of buying that wouldn't last. So far I'm very happy with the decision I made to purchase the Aurora 8-sheet shredder. I had a decent amount of things to shred when I first got it, and as described in the owners manual the Aurora will automatically shut itself off if it's overheating. I have to admit that for about 15 minutes all I could think of was whether it truly was overheating or whether it had simply died, but in the end it did exactly what it was supposed to do. If you're looking for a decent shredder for personal use that won't break the bank, you'd be wise to consider this one.Customer Review: Great since the Shredder extends to fit larger wastebaskets!

If you're looking for a home shredder that will do the job without costing you an arm and a leg, this is definetly it! If the wastebasket that comes with the shredder is "too small" for your use, simply apply "common sense" by putting the shredder over a larger wastebasket! Ignore all of these ho-hum reviews gripping about the wastebasket size by describing it as a "little shredder" that does "small jobs" which require "frequent emptying". Nonsense! The moment mine arrived, I took it out of the box, disgarded it's wastebasket and put the shredder over my larger wastebasket then began shredding! The shredder works fine! It's quiet and adequate for home use. For commercial use, go elsewhere. No problems here what-so-ever. Love it!
