When you install this unit, you need to know that you will have to push it in twice as hard as you think you'll need to (that's what she said). It will be very snug in the cigarette adapter.
This is the best way to have aftermarket satellite radio in your car for two reasons: 1. Portability from one car to the next. 2. Ease of installation by the consumer (no double-sided tape, drilling, removing dash panels, etc.).
You are limited to the # of presets at 12. As yet, it does not have a "Pause" feature like Tivo in case you get a phone call while you're driving, and you can't record any shows.
Purchased the XM Skydock because I already had an iTouch and liked the portability. I had some trouble with the software from iTunes. I found out that you cannot load the "free" app unless you have the iTunes 3.0 or higher, software. So I paid the $4.95 for the 3.1 software, then downloaded the Skydock app. It took a couple of tries, but works great now.
This is the way you want to go if you want MLB, NASCAR, NFL, college football, NHL, NBA (XM + best of Sirius).

Ordered the skydock and received it in less than a week. This unit is worth the purchasing even if you don't activate satellite radio. The mount powers and charges your iphone/itouch, holds it securely (better than any windshield mount) and plays your itunes / movie audio through your car radio.
Works perfectly with both my iphone and ipod touch.
There are no problems installing this unit in my BMW Z4 it fits perfectly but you have to push really hard to get the unit to go all the way into the 12v accessory socket. This is because there is a rubber grommet on the end of the sky dock plug which fits very very tightly and holds the skydock securely in place. The flexible connector allows perfect location of screen for viewing.
I have been using the integral fm modulator to connect to the radio and it works perfectly. The XM app controls the radio beautifully - this is how a satellite radio should work.
Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I was very iffy about buying a product for which I would need an Itunes application. My concerns were unfounded because the Skydock was ALL I needed to be able to listen to XM/Sirius radio in my 4Runner. I can easily remove my Ipod touch from my vehicle whenever I park somewhere I'm not comfortable leaving something valuable in my vehicle. I'm constantly on the road and since I already had an Ipod touch, the only thing left to buy was the Skydock! It is very simple to use and you can save your favorite stations, as well as tag a song that you like for future purchase (love that feature). In my opinion, a GREAT buy. Granted, I wasn't too happy with the antenna wires being by my feet (looked messy) until a friend of mine who works at Best Buy did a professional job of hiding ALL the wires in the side panels and I can't even tell where any of the wires are!
Anyway, it's a great purchase, and I'd highly recommend this product.

All I can say is move over peanut butter and jelly here comes sirius xm and apple. I got the skydock before a trip from Amarillo TX to Dallas. This skydock made this trip so much more enjoyable.The ease of set up,the ease of hook up,the ease/fun of navigating the itouch with its cool visual display is just special. Plus, you add the entertainment buffet of sirius xm and your ears will be on a sugar high. I was told/read about running the antenna to the outside of the car but I simply laid it on the dash and never had a problem with sat. reception. The only issue I had was the fm transmitter which is quick,great,easy to use but driving into a different city can cause you to have to search for frequencies instead of enjoying sirius xm content. On the open road it worked great. I've read a fm direct connector will solve this minor problem. From am to fm and now sirius xm, it really is a new and better experience!Customer Review: Absolutely Impressed!!!

Ok I must say I am extremely impressed With the XM Skydock. The install was easy, took about 20 minutes, 3 minutes was waiting for the area of the car I had to clean to dry. The only issue I ran into was I thought the cable that they give you that hooks up the receiver is short by about 6 inches (installed on a 06 Honda Civic). Activating the radio itself was a breeze, i did it all on line and never had to talk to a human which I enjoy. But if you have to speak to someone, it will be Bob from India. The sound quality of the radio was far beyond what I was expecting, it was crisp and clear, sounded just as good as music from my iPod. The app for the iPhone is perfect, you can tell they took the time to do it right the first time. Listened to it for the past two days and found no glitches or bugs in it yet, its absolutely beautiful. Overall I am pleased with this radio and would recommend it to anyone.
