Customer Review: I could be biased

Ok, ok. I bought this product as an open box deal from my local Best Buy. I only paid $10 for it, so I didn't expect to much. I have had it for a couple of months and haven't had any problems with it. I did read the other online reviews before I got a chance to use it. With the complaints about it buckling, I took the precaution of drilling small holes in the sides and screwing through the sides into the ends of a couple of the shelves. (as I said, I only paid 10 dollars). With this little bit of extra support, I haven't had one bit of trouble. I have well over 200 cds on the rack and it holds together like a trooper. As a matter of fact, I recently recarpeted my home office and had to move it... full. It never acted like it wanted to fall apart.
I would recommend this product, if you don't mind making the simple modification to it's support system... on the other hand, if you pay full price for it, I don't think you should have to modify ANY product to get it to perform.

I've been collecting VHS tapes and DVD movies for over 35 years. I have something on the order of 700 or more VHS video tapes and 300 DVDs in my collection. Over the course of these years, it became necessary to buy storage cabinets to house this sizable collection. When I bought this latest cabinet, it never occurred to me just how flimsy a cabinet could be made. Based on my experiences with storage cabinets, and the costs associated with them, this cabinet which cost me $30 plus s and h, should have only cost $12-15. The individual slats and side pieces are thin, in my opinion. Lord willin, when the time comes to buy another cabinet, I will have to find something else with more subtance and structural integrity. I can only hope that when it's filled to capacity, the shelves don't buckle and/or collapse.
Since your next request for info is to find out if I'm older than 13, I will tell you, I'm 57!!

I am not totally happy about this purchase. I trust the picture shown and didn't measure the sizes (height and length). So it was my fault no to check it before making the purchase. I thought it was bigger and broader, so I couldn't imagine that all my CDs, books and DVDs wouldn't fit in it, so I will probably have to buy other cabinet (a bookcase, actually). I just chose this instead of other I saw in other company (IKEA, I think) because the shipping was easier and cheaper and the price overall was better than the other one. But if you only wanna store your CDs in an organized manner and you have less than 200, go ahead...Customer Review: You get what you pay for

We received one of these exact shelves as a gift, so when we needed more DVD space we went ahead and bought one ourselves. They look nice enough, BUT, the sides are not sturdy enough, or maybe the shelves are not long enough, the shelves will fall down and dump all the DVDS if you bump it. We are going to try to wood glue the sides to each of the shelves, because it seems the sides bow out a bit. We'll see if that works. But money was tight and it was the cheapest one I could find that held so much, so, overall if I was in a money crunch again I would buy it again. Just be prepared to be fixing your DVDs occasionally.Customer Review: Banged up Box

Great price on the product. Shipped really fast but the box looked as though it went through a war. One of the corners were broken right out of the box and the black marker fixed the other nicks. I am sure if I had contacted the company they wold have replaced but I was too excited about putting it together. I would buy another one.
