Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple AV Composite Cable (OLD VERSION)Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a resentful iSheep who has been hooked on Macs since the small square cube decades back. I resent Apple's prices and their arrogance at creating new products that aren't adaptable to "old" hardware and software.
The fact that I can't connect my new MacBook Pro to my tv via s-video cables is stupid. I depend heavily on doing work presentations with an "older" tv monitor and now I have to use an old computer to do so. Stupid. Apple is inconsiderate to their customer base who still grovel for the crumbs.
So, I got this cable hoping to have the convenience to watch my videos & movies using s-video cables. It works! Dang it Apple! It works.
This cable includes an outlet plug & usb so you use to charge ipod/iphone. I found that when you watch a long movie using the iphone the power doesn't drain much if you close phone while you watch (sleep display -not power off). However you can also plug phone into outlet to preserve battery. I tried to plug in MacBook to tv via usb and s-video but it didn't work. Stupid Apple.
Many people complain about the plugs fitting too tight or not at all. That isn't a problem for my tv at all. The tv is a large screen HD Mitsubishi bought off CL for a couple hundred bucks. Glad it is compatible with this cable.
Want to give props to Handbrake while I'm at it!
