I have owned several mp3 players in the past from Philips, Sony, and a ipod nano. Nothing ever comes close to this in terms of features, interface, and ease of use. I was blown away seeing what it can do. It can do anything an Iphone can do minus the phone. If you have wireless access, you can use Voip applications to make phone calls. The screen is made out of glass so it is almost scratch proof. It has built in speakers which is very useful when gaming without using headphones or watching youtube. There are many very high quality apps available from the app store. You can find lots of free ones. When I owned a nano, I almost hated having to use Itunes to manage music, but the new version has more functionality and is very easy to use. There might be other manufacturers with better aesthetics and features but apple is very far ahead in terms of user base and app store applications. A little downside is the back which scratches very easily. If only apple could make the back scratch proof, it would be awesome.Customer Review: If you luv gadgets...

I love gadgets, (intelligent ones) that is. The Ipod Touch is an intelligent gadget, and this Amazon seller had a very competitive price. Although, I'm satisfied to use just itunes and mail (came in handy last few weeks when I was in the Caribbean on vacation) features for now, there are other great apps that I'll explore later. I'm over 50, and with so much to think about I like gadgets uncomplicated, so I appreciate the graphic interface which means you can figure things out logically. It took only a short while for me to learn to lighten my touch to use it and my son taught me how to "pinch and zoom" to read articles on the internet and to view photos - so neat! I look forward to learning other tricks. With all the other features I'm NOT using yet, I'm under utilizing mine right now, but I still enjoy it. I bought the DLO case to protect it from fingerprints and scratches, and I invested in a good pair of headphones, for long waits or flights. If you love gadgets like I do, you'll enjoy this one.Customer Review: Worth every penny!!!

I don't actually own one but my brother does and I use his all the time. This thing is awsome!! It has a really cool design, and smaller then the origional generation. You can go on youtube, or just surf the web. I can even check my e-mail on this thing!! I've been hearing rumor's that you are always connected to Wi-Fi in the Starbuck's resturaunt, but I don't know if they are true or not. The genious feature is cool too. You can make a playlist for any occasion and I think you can name them. This generation isn't just smaller, but they come with built in speakers. They are not very good though, infact to me they sound like Cell phone speakers. I'd rather use the headphone's. I like how you can download different apps for your Ipod too. My bro doesn't have that many but I keep trying to talk him into this great investment. He's stuborn. Anyway's this is a great new model from Apple, and they should keep up the good work. I received the new iPod touch as promised. It is working great. I read the reviews from other people and I am very careful not to get any moisture on the iPod. The battery life seems better than my older iPod and so far lasts for about 3-4 hours approximately which is good.
I use my older iPod when I excercise. My daughter downloaded one of the games from the iTunes stores and she was playing for hours. The WiFi feture works great. It is not superfast, but I can look up web sites without turning on the computer which is cool. I also use the weather feature and the stocks feature. I was playing with the maps feature and it is really interesting. My favorite feature is that I can listen to podcasts without syncing my computer. It works great for audio podcasts, and not video podcasts which is fine with me. Overall, it is a very enjoyable new gadget. I still enjoy my older "classic" iPod because it has a lot more room and I basically have all my music and pictures on it.

I play into the whole Microsoft vs Apple politics - and i'm on the side of Microsoft so I try to poo poo everything Apple.
However, Apple wins this round. This IPOD Touch has altered the way I do my computing. The way it feels in my hands - and i'm not saying this because Steve Jobs propagandized my mind into saying it, it was the first thing I thought of. Touching the screen is so addictive. It works great. The keyboard takes a bit getting used to.
It has been worth the price I paid. Looking for free apps in the appstore is more fun than actually using the apps.
Apple won me over with this device. I feel like a traitor but its such an innovative device I can't even falsely pretend I think it is not worthy. It is. It should win an award.
Just so you know - I use this around my house - I have WIFI in my house - you may see people with IPhone's that use internet anywhere - with IPod Touch you need Wifi.
I love my device.
