Customer Review: Best iPod
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok. I rarely ever write reviews, but I felt I had to let the world know how great this product actually is.

First, some background info. I wanted an iPhone but didn't want to pay the gazillions it takes for a monthly plan, so I tryed to buy one off Ebay. That didn't work because all of them were over 500 dollars. I then thought about purchasing an iPod, but heard of the update that was coming up. After the new iPods were announced, i bought a 8gb Nano. I really liked it, but i still longed for the touch. So, i gave the nano to my brother and i bought the touch. That way, if i ever wanted the nano, we would just switch and then switch back. Everyone wins

Pros

Best touch screen EVER (never felt anything more responsive)
A bunch of free apps (I recommend Dactyl, facebook, tap tap, knots)
Keyboard is great
Internet is faaaasssst compared to psp
Email app is great b/c it offers access to multiple accounts
customizable screens
Google Maps( just load when at hotspot and no need to print directions)
itunes and ipod have always had seamless integration

Cons

You'll always be worrying about the screen. My recommendation is to just get one of those socks. The cases with the screen protectors detract from the amazing touch experience

You have to pay for major updates (even though iphone updates are free)

You can only charge through computer unless you dish out for dock or other device. My recommendation is to get the apple A/V connection kit for 50 dollars at Best Buy outlet online (Product # MA242LL/A) that has a dock that allows for line out to stereo or TV, apple remote for changing music, movies, or pictures, and the all important apple usb power converter that lets you plug the ipod into the wall. (If you buy the dock and usb power adapter seperatley, it'll run 80 dollars.

Safari doesn't have flash :(

Customer Review: Absolute Greatness
Summary: 5 Stars

I would definitely give this 5 stars anyday. The iPod is so sleek and light and fits into your hand easily without any discomfort or pain. The touch-screen is very responsive and I've never had any problems with it. I don't have very wide or fat fingers, but I've heard complaints from people who did and they seem to all suggest getting a stylus. Once again I don't have any problem with it, so it works out for me. If you're in a good wi-fi hotspot(with high-speed internet) youtube streams greatly, usually never stops to load, and safari runs swiftly, about the speed you'd expect from a moderate computer. The iPod never gets hot while in use. You may see it increase several degrees while charging, but that's normal for most electric devices. Apps I would have to say are the best part of this product. I could spend hours playing them. Hundreds of free ones to choose from, so money isn't a deal if you were worried, but some of the best ones do cost money, but I would say it's worth it. The user interface was very easy to get used to. At first,(unless you've had an iPod touch 1st Gen) you won't know what some of the buttons do, but it shouldn't take more than a few days to figure it all out.
Oh and the videos(at least the ones bought from iTunes) play perfectly and I have watched a full 90 minute movie with my iPod not even fully charged, for those worried about battery life. I've heard 24 of just playing music is the average battery life, but if you're playing with apps or watching movies(especially if you have your brightness turned all the way up) will burn that battery life a lot quicker.
Well I covered what I thought was most important, and hope my review will help you if you were still pondering weather or not you should buy this product. Fully recommend it.

Customer Review: The IPhone without cellular network (5- stars)
Summary: 5 Stars

The iPod Touch is so much more than a digital music player; it also has wireless connectivity, a calendar/PDA program, photo storage, video playback, and applications galore. The Touch is essentially an iPhone without the ability to call and without universal wireless access; you will have to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot or your home wireless network to access the internet.

The Touch comes preloaded with Safari (Apple's internet browser), iTunes, a clock, iCal (daily organizer), a calculator, a notebook program, direction connection to YouTube, Mail, and a few others. These applications are only the beginning, however. The iTunes store offers hundreds of free apps that you'll want to browse through before you begin to consider the paid ones. Note that certain apps, such the New York Times, will work only when you have wireless access to the internet.

You navigate the Touch with a tap or a flick of your finger. The glassy black surface gets fingerprints if you even *think* of touching it, but they are easily wiped off with the included microfiber cloth. The biggest drawback to the Touch is capacity. Unlike with the iPod Classic, you probably aren't going to be able to carry around your entire music library, especially since the applications will take space as well.

Consumers need to weigh whether they want to manage their music more from the computer if they get the Touch or whether they would rather have the dedicated, huge capacity Apple iPod classic 120 GB Silver (6th Generation) LATEST MODEL.) In my mind, other brands simply do not compete with Apple technology and user interface.

Customer Review: iphone and ipod touch are the best electronic invention in this decade
Summary: 5 Stars

What most people fail to realize is that Apple didn't just build a better ipod when it invented the iphone and the ipod touch. no, Apple put into your hands the best small computer on the market today. I used to carry my macbook with me everywhere but after you own either the iphone or the ipod touch, that is no longer necessary. As long as you have one of them in your pocket, you are already carrying around a fully functional computer with full internet access and email access. They have the greatest viewing screen for video, pictures, and podcasts. You can read ebooks on them or listen to audiobooks. They are absolutely wonderful for listening to music and with a plug in device, you can listen to them through your car's radio. You can read your email. You can buy specialized software for even more functions. The only difference between the iphone and the ipod touch is that the iphone also has a phone as part of the device. I don't think that was the overriding thought in developing these. I think the overriding thought was to invent a computer you could run by touching choices on the screen with your fingertips. It is brilliant at doing just that and I often forget on my macbook that I can't touch its screen to make selections. I wish I could! It is filled with other great features too, like a great calculator and map finder. A kid on a campus which is fully covered with wifi internet access (the whole campus including the park benches) would probably do better (and much cheaper since there is no phone bill) with the ipod touch rather than an iphone. This and a macbook could be the two key things a kid takes to college.

Customer Review: I could not live without my Ipod Touch!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a former Palm Pilot owner -- I thought I loved my Palm Pilot, but when Ipod came out with the Touch I finally broke down and bought one when the 2G 8GB version came out -- I have not regretted it one bit! Amazon had a great deal where if you sign up for [...] you got $100 off the purchase price!! Plus I sold my old Palm Pilot for $150 -- so I actually ended up making money on the deal (then I regretted not having gotten the 16GB!) There is really no comparison between the Palm and Touch -- Apple makes it SO EASY and quick to install apps, the Palm was always time consuming and lugubrious to install software programs onto, and finding them was a hit or miss proposition. Apple has everything neatly packaged up in their Itunes software program for your computer and it's so easy and QUICK to find and install ANYTHING my little heart desires on the Touch! The touch has wifi so I can hook up to the wifi on my bus ride to and from work everyday and surf the web or check my emails. I love the KINDLE and STANZA reader apps! I have a library of almost 500 books on my Touch and read them constantly! Did I mention the apps? Weight Watchers now has a mobile app similar to their old Palm software program -- I can't wait to try it!! I literally carry my Touch with me EVERYWHERE I go -- I seriously could not live without it. I would get the iPhone version but I'm an older person who does not use my phone much, so the contracts involved in getting one would be cost-prohibitive, but I'm so happy that they offer the Touch! I am now only waiting for the Touch to come out with a camera installed and then I'm upgrading!!
