Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod touch 32 GB (2nd Generation) [Previous Model]Customer Review: Apple iPod Touch 32GB Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product on Cyber Monday and I love it. As far as I can tell, I got a great deal. It came as if direct from Apple. I know it was supposed to be used, but there is no sign of that whatsoever. The seller also sent me some very cool, silicone cases to go with it, a blue and clear one. As far as the iPod itself, it is such an amazing gadget. Granted, my biggest problem is the wifi, b/c you have to be in a wifi spot to be able to use the internet. However, once you have that, you are set. I bought so that I could have my music before I went on vacation, and while I was on the plan, that had wifi connection, I was able to download my music and quit a few apps. I have also been able to send emails on, yes emails. I plan to use this as back up for when I get my iphone, but so far I am very happy with ipod.
Customer Review: Love it!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I was so excited to replace my 4th generation iPod with the 2nd gen iPod touch. Of course this was a major upgrade. It's great to have the speaker, which isn't that loud at the highest volume, if I just want to listen without earbuds. The volume control on the side is also a great feature. It's fun to have the applications. I love how I can download apps or songs directly onto the iPod via wifi. Then when I connect it to iTunes, the apps and songs are backed up.
My only issue is not being able to use my old iPod car charger. It can only be charged with the usb cable. Luckily it has a battery life for up to 36 hours audio or 6 hours video.
Overall, I think it's a fun gadget to have. I'm looking forward to watching movies on it during road trips or at work when no one is around.
Customer Review: Best money I ever spent Summary: 5 Stars
My iPod Touch does everything. This is a device for someone who doesn't want or need the phone, plus it offers more storage than the larger iPhone.
Any app you can imagine, you can find it. This device is so versatile, that I don't know how I lived without it. Definitely try it out as an ebook reader. I haven't carried a physical book in weeks!
No major problems to report, other than it locked up once and I couldn't figure out how to get it to reboot, unlike my old iPod.
Wifi? If you can get it, it's great. I check e-mail from my bed. I sometimes go to a sandwich shop with wifi to play around. Unfortunately, a lot of hotspots are not free. Someone told me therefore it was not that useful, but I maintain it's as useful as a laptop, only smaller.
Customer Review: The Best Mp3 Player EVER!! Summary: 5 Stars
Apple iPod touch 32 GB (2nd Generation) This is the best player I have ever had and I've had quite a few. The Ipod Touch 32 GB 2G is packed with fun!! First of all the screen is large and the colors are extraordinary and crystal clear!! Buying songs and exciting applications and games right from the Ipod is truly genious!! The touch screen is unbelievably fun to use. Watching movies and viewing photos is a whole different experience!! You really need to experience this Ipod NOW!! I hope there will be another Ipod Touch with 120GB or more of room, 32GB is great but I want more, more, more!! Before I tried the Ipod Touch I was a creative fan--sorry creative, now I'm an Apple!!!!
Customer Review: Excellent, but does not support firewire recharging Summary: 5 Stars
Over the years I have purchased various iPods and have accumulated a few USB and firewire power supplies. My "old" first gen iPod Touch could be charged with any of those old USB or firewire power supplies.
However, the second gen iPod Touch cannot be charged with the firewire power supply. You need the USB one. Also, from what I read elsewhere, some older off-brand docking units will not charge the second gen iPod Touch, presumably because they are based on the firewire spec. Playback through these docks still works, though.
The good news is that all of the improvements and overall performance of the second gen iPod Touch far outweigh the minor setback of not being able to charge via firewire. The USB adapter that comes with it works just fine.
