Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod touch 32 GB (2nd Generation) [Previous Model]Customer Review: More than just an MP3 player Summary: 5 Stars
I just switched over to the Ipod. I am now wonder what took me so long. This is just a fantastic little device. Aside from music and movies it does so much more. I purchased the Touch about 2 weeks ago and I am on my third book. I use the Kindle application and download books straight to the Touch. It has 5 different levels of magnification for the text. Easy flick of the finger page turning and bookmarks.
I currently live overseas and I found the application "Radio" on the Itunes application and now I listen to some great state-side radio programming. Maybe not the radio station you listened to but still some great radio programs streaming over the internet is available and its free using an available wireless network. The built in speaker is great for when you don't want to use headphones but you will want a quiet surrounding.
Not a whole lot of bad things to say for this device for me. The pop-up keyboard for entering text brings a new meaning to fat-fingering. It takes some minor effort to ensure your pressing the correct key. It would be better with a styles and I think those are available from another source.
Customer Review: iPod 32gb 2nd Gen Summary: 5 Stars
Pretty good product overall, nice sleek design, lot's of reasons to own one, if not for music then for just about anything else. You can game, listen to music, read books, surf the net, watch videos on youtube, and much more, all on one handy device.
My only complaint is that you cannot use a stylus on a touch screen device, and when you can you can't drag, you can only tap. Touch screens as most people know are very prone to smearing and collecting anything under the sun. Fingerprints are the main culprit on this machine.
The device is pretty straight forward as far as usage, and what you can't pick up by just fiddling around, you have a descriptive instruction manual for. Zooming in is as simple as placing two fingers on the screen and dragging one inward or outward of the other finger, for scrolling up and down, just drag you finger vertical or horizontal, pretty much exactly what you'd expect. To rearrange your icons just hold your finger on any icon then drag the icons into the order you prefer.
If you don't already own an iPod this is probably the best bet, just depends on the size you want.
Customer Review: Watching What I Hear Summary: 5 Stars
I fought with myself for quite a while about puchasing an iPod. Part of me didn't want to jump on the bandwagon, or feel like I had to buy the expensive brand name. I actually purchased several other mp3 players. But, they kept breaking. Finally, I bit the bullet and bought the iPod touch.
I went with the touch because of the internet capabilities. That way, I can check my email, the weather, the stock market and enjoy other features beyond simply listening to music.
In fact, I don't often listen to music on my iPod touch. I listen more to teaching than anything else. I have the entire King James Bible on my iPod, a lot of sermons, and some praise and worship music as well.
I highly recommend the iPod touch. Not only does it look good and sound good, but it has so much storage space, I've used only a fraction of it and have over 6 days of material to listen to before I start getting to repeats.
With all of the negativity in the world, my iPod touch keeps me firmly grounded in the Word. I can listen to God's word through speech and music anytime.
Customer Review: Big fun in a small package! Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely LOVE my iPod touch. It's the first one I've ever owned and I'm having a great time playing with it. The screen is amazingly clear and colorful, the available apps are so numerous that you can't help but find a lot of things that you want (many of them free). I've had this for less than a month but it's with me all the time. I check it first thing in the morning (weather, email) and last thing at night. The wifi capability is great for checking my email without having to log on to my laptop all the time. The external speaker sounds good for what it is and I love being able to flip through my album covers. The only thing that I would add to this would be a camera, but I know that would make it thicker so I guess that's why they don't do it. I would have gotten an iPhone, which has a camera, but I don't have AT&T service and definitely don't want it. If they ever get around to offering it to other carriers, then I guess I'll have to make that decision. All in all, a beautiful and very fun little gadget to own. I don't regret this rather expensive purchase for a second!
Customer Review: iPod Touch: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
My laptop died. I use it when I travel, to get email, surf the net, etc. Also carry my iPod classic, for tunes on the road. Well, the Touch does it all. Get my email, surf the net, listen to music AND watch movies ! A great device that delivers all it promises. No, you can't type word docs or do Excel spreadsheets, but I really never used my laptop on the road for that anyway. The App store is great; plenty to download, including lots of free apps. Wish the battery life was a little better when in Wi-Fi mode, but you can shut it off to conserve bat life. The Touch runs off Wi-Fi networks, not cell networks. The world is going Wi-Fi, so finding a free Wi-Fi hot spot is as easy as finding a Panera Bread or Starbucks. (Or any of the hotels I stay at when I travel). The form factor is very thin; fits in a tight pocket or jacket. All the features of the iPhone, without the monthly cell fees. If you don't need another cell phone (I didn't...) but want all the functionality of the iPhone, go with the iTouch. Get the 32gig model.
