Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod touch 32 GB (1st Generation) OLD MODELCustomer Review: Love It! Defiantly Worth It! Summary: 5 Stars
The Apple iPod Touch is extremely easy to use, and it's sleek and modern look is wonderful!
Pros:
-WiFi, automatically finds and displays networks available, extremely useful on travel. I've used it several times traveling, and it comes in handy!
-Mail, the mail app is extremely easy to setup, and the download of mail is extremely fast. It does not download the entire email if it is to large; however, you can tell it to download the remaining part of the email. Attachments are extremely easy to view, and once again if it is to large it will not download, unless you ask it to.\
-The Music and Video on here are WONDERFUL! The video is very detailed and clear (same goes for Internetnet video, and YouTube video). Music seems the same as my 5G iPod. I love the CoverFlow that lets you easily navigate through all your music. It was very tedious to try to figure out which album you were choosing on older editions of iPods.
-Safari, the internet application is very easy to use, and lets you make favorites, just like your computer's explorer.
-Quick reaction time when tilting the iPod (for CoverFlow, games, Safari)
-AppStore is extremely easy to use, and is constantly updated with new apps that are very helpful
-iTunes is also very easy to use, with search, categories, and the most popular songs/albums
-Keyboard is also very easy to use. I prefer to use the keyboard in the horizontal mode, because I find it easier.
-The "Remote" App lets you wirelessly control your iTunes library on your computer, which is very nice if you have a home theatre system.
-The touch screen is extremely easy to use, and is very responsive to your finger...I do wish you could use a stylus, which is a drawback, but I do believe the made one specifically for touches and iPhones.
Cons:
-Sometimes, when email is downloading, and you go on (lets say to another email Account, like I do), the iPod freezes temporarily-but it comes back after a few seconds.
-No built-in radio; however, with the new AppStore there is the Pandora App which is "online-radio" which in a way makes up for it!
-No "hard" volume, or pause button, which is kind of inconvenient, but it is easy to get use to.
I would highly recommend getting a case to protect your little investment!
Hope this helps in your decision!
Customer Review: New League of iPod Summary: 5 Stars
Came as a Valentine's gift from my wife and to think I disliked Valentine's day... This iPod just takes mp3 to a whole different league. Its probably a good few months ahead of its time. Music capabilities are amazing and the least that this device offers. Video screen size is really very reasonable to realistically enjoy a full movie without straining your eyes and ears too much and with its portability and 'slimness', it becomes the most sought after player of any sort.
Combine this with very fast 'free' wireless internet that actually replaces use of your PC/Mac interent because of its amazing speed.... and there you have it, device of the future that does it all.
The screen scroll options and zoom in and out are out of this world, especially as you scroll with your fingers sliding across the screen. When less than enough momentum develops with the scroll, it bounces back into place ("Minority Report" kind of screen action). Also, how does it know to flip the screen sideways when you physically rotate the iPod....? Amazing!!!!
32GB is an extremely reasonable size and especially since it is designed for movie and TV show viewing. I really would highly recommmend this over the 16GB and definitely not the 8GB. By the time you load music and photos, you'd like to have enough for more than a movie or two at a time. 32GB is comfortable and to double your memory for an extra $100 is probably a very good investment. So glad they brought out the 32GB, perfect size.
I'd like to finish by finding flaws since it provides a more objective review but really, flaws are very limited here. Its too impressive to disappoint in any way. I guess I'd say the button size when surfing online can be a little uncomfortable if you have big fingers, in which case using a random stylus could certainly do the trick.
I love mine probably as my most prized possession right now.
Customer Review: Good and bad at the same time. Summary: 5 Stars
I ended up getting this right when it came out to replace my 80gb ipod classic because of the screen size and the interference. I would say though that the touch part is something people with ether hate or love. For ME personally i prefer touch based use interfaces over click buttons or touch pads. After owning the 30gb(i think thats what it was) 3rd gen ipod and a 8gb 2g ipod nano that both the ipod classic and the ipod touch have much better sound quality and are much more durable. In my itunes library there is about 11gb's of music and 40gb's of movies,tv shows and personal video but obvious it cant all fit but seriously if your going to have to put THAT much video onto it your not going to watch it all at once so i find it fine that i cant take it all with me and the plus side its a 3.5'' screen and the movies look so much better in the middle of class then on a small 2.5'' screen the images are crisp and the colors are fantastic (just a warning if your going to watch a video with a friend the viewing angles arent really that great). The sound quality on the other had is just okay its not stellar but its not honorable. The highs seem to be more like mids at really high volumes and sometimes theres a bit of a hiss (cause of the sound chip which is different from the ipod classic sound chips) but still what can you expect from such a small divice? overall great product! But if you want to hold alot i wouldn't rethink if its worth it for you.
Customer Review: Best Little Radio I've Ever Owned Summary: 5 Stars
I didn't need, nor want an iPhone as I'm perfectly happy with my RAZR and my Bluetooth ear piece. I never take my phone out of the BACKPACK I use as a purse, when it rings I just tap my ear and I'm talking. And I have a perfectly good iPod, so when I wandered into the Apple Store in San Diego I wasn't really in the market for anything Apple, not at this time.
But I picked up an iPod Touch and started to wonder, can I stream AOL radio on the thing. Probably not, as I'd heard you couldn't get the iTunes radio stations. But I was wrong. I only had the thing in my hands for a couple minutes before figuring out how to download AOL Radio onto the Touch. Three minutes later I was paying for one and I use it all the time. I love the talk radio stations from all over the country and I love the great blues stations and the super rock stations. All the other good stuff that comes with the touch are neat as well, like the 32 gigs of rock and roll you can put on there, but for me, it was the streaming radio. I just love my Touch.

Customer Review: Does everything that most people want Summary: 5 Stars
I've had my Touch 32gb for 4 days now and I still find myself looking longingly at it. I'm not sure how Apple manages to get the screen to look so amazing or the Wi-Fi to be as fast as it is, but as an owner of a Dell X51v PDA, a Nokia 810 and an iPod classic I can speak from experience that this is a superior device to each and every one. The only thing that I wish for is the program selection that you have with Windows Mobile 6.0, but to not have the headaches and crashes it is worth it.
I have used a PDA for years and really didn't think that the Touch was up to the task of being my everyday device. Now I'm sure that my PDA will only serve to run the business software that runs on Windows Mobile. Other than that the device is perfect. Good form factor, fast processor, incredible screen, and a large hard drive. And with Apple releasing an SDK for it, there should be lots of software titles available soon.
For anyone who is a PDA user who has always wanted iTunes capability, I have one thing to say; Dump the PDA and get a Touch. Instead of having to run Windows software with codecs and dealing with constant problems, you get seamless iTunes connectivity with the fantastic Coverflow interface. Now, if we can only get a dual boot Touch that also has true GPS, we would have a Masterpiece.
