My boyfriend bought this for christmas at $199 here at amazon, and we had found it to be a great product. At firts I was a bit worried that because it was 1st gen it was going to be poor quality in comparison. But NOT AT ALL. My cousin bought the 2nd gen for a larger price and the only difference I could encounter was that the 2nd gen has build in speaker. Which for us it makes no difference, he bough an ihome speaker for $30 and it works great, plus one will probably end up buying one anyway. Thw wi-fi function is great, its like having your own mini portable laptop, you can connect to anything, you can download free games etc... I m even thinking of buying one for myself because it it so cool. I would definetly recommend it. If the price seems reasonable for you buy it.Customer Review: Nearly as good as my old 5.5 gen.

I got the 16gb ipod touch last summer, when it was the largest ipod available. I am extremely impressed with its durability, the chrome backing is absolutly torn to shreds (Ditch the chrome backplate apple) and its been dropped and kicked and scraped all over the place. I highly reccomend buying the 2.0 update. its well worth it. The apps available make the ipod touch a truly enjoyable product. That being said, i believe the 5.5 gen. was the best ipod ever made. But after it was stolen from my locker at the gym, i decidded to go all gimmicky and get the ipod touch. Aside from the fact that you cant download java player for a hightened online experience, this is one hell of an ipod, and its not fragile at all. I finally pulled the trigger and bought the 16 gb touch with software update. I love it. I was most worried about if I would actually be able to find wi-fi connections. The wi-fi was the main thing that I thought would make it worth the price. It works great around my house and at work. The email and stock quotes are particularly useful for me. Surfing the web is easy with the safari browser. Overall, it is as good as I hoped. Oh yeah, it plays music too. Navigation is simple and the sound is good. I thought it would be all hype and I would end up disappointed but it has not turned out that way. I highly recommend it. I have only had it a few days but I can't get enough of it. Plus The Ability Of Movies And TV-Shows Is A Plus. And Now I Have A Few games On It Like Tetris, And Crash 3D Racing. Which Use The Accelormeter, And Touch Screen. You can Check You Myspace, Or Instant Message, to keep In touch with Everyone. But This Is A Good Buy. You get A Nice Player And It Is Durable. I bought three 16GB iPod Touch's at Christmas Gifts. Two for my cousin's kids and one for ME. After opening the iPods the two kids spent the rest of the day downloading their music, surfing the net, and doing email. All three of us are thrilled and amazed what we can do with it. I take it to the gym weekdays and track my investments on Google Finance and reading email between sets. When I am on the recumbent bike I put on the ear phones and watch some of my many music videos and before I know it my workout is done, darn it. This thing has paid for itself many times over. The other day at our hairdressers I surfed the net and took care of my email while my wife got a shampoo and cut.
