Customer Review: Love it, with two irritations
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using the 3rd gen Shuffle for a couple of weeks. I love the design, I love the capacity for more songs than I need at the gym, and even though the controls took a while to learn, I love the ability to skip songs and adjust volume without looking at anything or fishing around in my pocket (perfect for exercising). The Shuffle is shockingly small - I'm afraid that I'm going to accidentally run it through the washing machine in a shirt pocket. However, the smallness is really nice because it clips on my clothes without any trouble. The earphones sound okay (weak bass), but they fit very securely in my ears (another plus for exercising). I love the ability to create playlists; this has given me sufficient control over groupings of songs.

I have two frustrations. First, like everyone else, I'm irritated that an earphones adapter isn't available. I want to connect the Shuffle to my home and car stereo, but without an adapter I can't navigate or pause songs. Second, podcasts. They lump them all together like a playlist of songs, which makes it difficult to find what I'm looking for, forcing me to synch far fewer podcasts than I originally hoped for.

Summary: I love it, use it all the time, glad I bought it, but I'm waiting with growing irritation for an earphones adapter for home and car stereo use.

Customer Review: Small but lacks features
Summary: 4 Stars

Pro: Really small, convenient for running/exercising/etc.

Con: No volume controls, no skip or previous track control, well pretty much no controls at all

I can't comment on the battery life as I only ever used it 1 or 2 hours a day and then leave it charging the rest.

I don't use this as my main mp3 player as it doesn't have enough features to suffice. I like to jog and my main mp3 player is just too large, well it's about the size of an iPod touch but that's too big for me to fit in my running shorts key pocket.

The only controls are off, shuffle and repeat all the tracks in memory. No play or even pause button. This can be really good or really bad depending on how and where you are going to use it.

I'm not much of an audiophile, but it has decent sound quality. It's not overtly tinny or bassy. While I've heard better, I've also heard a lot worse.

So, it's portability makes it perfect for what I bought it for, but I would never consider using it as an mp3 player for on the train going to work or taking a drive in the car.

Customer Review: Great for workouts...
Summary: 4 Stars

I own an iPhone, an iPod Classic, and now the new iPod Shuffle. Each product in the "i"Line serves a purpose.

I can't take my huge phone or iPod Classic on bike rides, jogs, or to the gym without looking like a dork carrying around a hard drive. So i picked up the shuffle.

This device is tiny, smaller than my thumb. It clips anywhere (I clip it to my t-shirt sleeve. When you turn it on, it just starts playing. You have to use Apple's headphones, that have built in controls. These controls are confusing at first, but once you figure out the navigation (about a half hour playing with it) you won't even need to look at the remote to pause, play, change songs, change playlists, or adjust volume.

This is not the iPod you want in your car, or in your backpack. But this is the perfect iPod for those of us who just need some music to work out to. It does it's job, and holds almost 1000 songs, which is amazing for something that is smaller than a Tic-Tac box.

Customer Review: Ipod Shuffle Great Gift for Joggers
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this for my sister who is a jogger and wanted something small but enough memory for her to put her favorite songs on. My sister loves it. It has enough memory to put all of her favorite songs on and it lasts throughout her entire run/jog. My sister prefers this to the other IPODs as it is smaller and easier to carry. It arrived in perfect condition and was even delivered earlier than scheduled date.

Customer Review: Actually not too bad
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had just about every iPod version released. Yes I HATE the fact I have to use the lousy Apple earphones for now. But adapters are on the way. I do really like the fact that I can have playlists on this puppy. The voice over is pretty slick especially if you don't want to take your eyes away from something to look at a screen. Once the adapter is available I would add another .5 stars to this.
