My very first iPod! Being able to listen to ALL the music i like, non-stop, without commercials or radio personalities, or the hassle of changing CDs is such a pleasure! i'd literally forgotten how much i love my music over the past few years. Sad to admit that happened, SO happy to re-discover how good my favorite music can make me feel. The sound is great, the unit is easy to use...i've become addicted to this thing so bad that i even told Hubby i wish they'd come out with a water-proof one so i didn't have to remove it to take a shower!
Even if you're 'on the fence' about getting an MP3 player, you cannot go wrong with this little gem! i'm definitely keeping these in mind for holiday gift-giving. Also, it's the perfect way to test out if you really want one or not because it's so affordable, you wouldn't even mind giving it to someone if you decide it's not for you. Which i would bet won't happen! So go on, go for it! (You won't be sorry!)

I purchased my first shuffle for talk mp3s. It plays my very low(22kbps) bitrate MP3s without problem. At that bitrate the 1GB shuffle can hold over 50 hours of programming. Since I don't want to loose my place in a study I bought a second shuffle (an orange one) just for music.
The clip is absolutely perfect. You forget you have it on. I usually clip it to my collar and it always stays put.
Since it's so small I always leave my headphones connected so I don't loose it. It's much smaller even than a book of matches.
I use Sony Fontopia EX71s since they sound great and can be used either short or long.
I made the mistake of purchasing the new Sansa Express as a second player to save a little money, plus it has some additional features. After having the shuffle It spoiled me. Wearing the much larger Express around my neck was a great disadvantage. I can't imagine a better design than the shuffle for an active person.

The iPod Shuffle is a great digital music player for people on the go. Sure, the player only plays songs in order or random shuffle mode, and it is not easy to find a specific song. However, who wants to take time to sit there and scroll through menus to find something specific. Just fill it with songs that you really like, not whole albums with songs that you want to bypass. This iPod Shuffle plays hundreds of songs and lasts forever on one single battery charge. I have already made several long plane flights with the iPod Shuffle (7 hours or more each way), and I listened to the Shuffle continuously... with plenty of battery power to spare. Software and song loading is simple to use. The only drawback is that the only way to charge the battery is by docking it in the USB cradle connected to your computer. It would be nice to have a separate AC adapter for charging the Shuffle while traveling. Is there one?Customer Review: Orange shuffle rocks my walks!

I absolutely adore my orange shuffle for a number of reasons: its tiny, lightweight size, sturdy metallic encasing, vibrant color, Zen-like simplicity, clear sound quality, generous battery life, and ability to clip anywhere (I clip mine into my jeans pocket). In fact, I love mine so much that I got one for my partner, a painting contractor. In fact, she loves it so much for work that she wants a second one! I just ordered the new Product Red shuffle for her through the Apple Store. One shuffle has her rock, and the other will have all one artist. The 1GB of space is more than enough for a gadget with no screen. Honestly, I don't want a screen when I use my shuffle. That's what my 8GB nano is for. Between my walks with the dogs, watering the yard, and my partner's painting business, we both could not be more elated with our shuffles. Except for the cord on the cradle, this is the PERFECT music machine.Customer Review: Stylish and great value!

The HDD on my 3G iPod photo just scrammed so I was looking for a replacement while I wait for the iPhone or the next iPod. I had some misgivings about the 2nd generation shuffle but was impressed after the purchase. The design is simple and functional. The clip really is the best way to attach this small device. The Apple website says it is the size of a matchbox but I really think a matchbox is larger and heavier. For its size the iPod shuffle is surprisingly solid. Overall the design and materials is top notch. The usability also gets top marks. Apple has designed multiple functions like clicking play 3 times to go to the beginning of the playlist. On a final note the orange color really is eye-catching. This is a great gadget!
