Everywhere i go, i always have my shuffle with me. I've previously owned the Ipod video, and a Regular Ipod; but this one beats them all because all you have to do is clip it to your clothing ( usually waist ) and forget about it ! You can't even feel you have it. With the other Ipods you walk with a heavy object in your pocket and sometimes gets in the way, it just feels uncomfortable unless you are sitting down, plus everytime you are listening to the other bulky Ipods, you always have to be paying attention to it. For instance, when you sit down, you need to think about where to place it. When you stand up, you need to choose whether you are going to hold on to it or put it in your pocket; and sometimes gets in the way. When you play a sport like soccer or basket ball.... it's not ment to be in your pocket or specially in your hands. When you are in the bathroom nevermind.
Bottom Line: This Ipod is for those people who don't care what song is next, and doesn't have time to look at the Artist/Song Name; and don't want to be constantly thinking about their Ipod. ( That is why you can add the songs you like and/or remove the songs you dislike from your Ipod shuffle before you take it with you ).. Then this Ipod is for you !

I have the 30 and 80 GB iPods that my wife and I use at work each day, but they were a little too bulky to take to the gym or while in-line skating. So I decided to give the new shuffle a try. I have been very impressed. I was actually able to fit about 265 songs on to it after selecting the 128 conversion option that is included in iTunes for the shuffle and that is plenty for quite a long time of repeat free listening.
I have used bikes, steppers, ellipticals, and lifted with just about every piece of equipment in the gym and this thing never gets in the way. I have even accidentally hit it with dumbbells a few times and it keeps on going without any problems.
Also the headphones that come with it are a great length, I have had some in the past that are too long and get in the way and snag on things, but when I clip the shuffle on to my pants pocket, the cord is just the right length. I have both the silver, which I got before the colors were available, and the orange and I have not had any problems with either one. Apple did it again, I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

-No battery life improvement (still 12 hours)
-Still no screen
-Clip is a little stiffer than I'd like
-Cheap headphones
-Still no FM tuner, mic, voice record, or line-in
-No accessories for it that aid in your workouts, yet (like the Nano)
-1GB is the largest capacity
BOTTOM LINE: At a price point impossible to ignore, this excellent sounding MP3 player continues Apple's great line of electronics. The perfect starter player or for workout enthusiasts. For those looking for a great compact MP3 player, look no further.

I wanted an mp3 player for working out. I dont like things strapped to my arms or legs so a more traditional mp3 player was out of the question. Also I don't really listen to music outside of the car and gym so no need for a fancy player. Once I saw this thing in person I knew it was perfect for me. Its solid metal with a built in clip, also metal. Its extremely small and light. I can clip it to various parts of my clothing to accommodate the position im currently in. The sound quality is fantastic and I love the random song choices. You also can make your own playlist in itunes and use that but personally I like the surprise of random songs plus hearing songs that you may normally skip over on albums. As for battery time, well its never died on me. Seems to hold a charge forever, even when I don't charge it for a couple weeks while slacking on the workouts. Overall its been almost 3 years and this little thing looks great and sounds great. Also, in my opinion, the orange is the best color they have offered this in.Customer Review: Ipod Shuffle a godsend....

I have wanted one of these for quite some time, but the high cost of any Ipod has kept me from buying one--so when I found the shuffle for only $79 I decided to try it and am very pleased with this Ipod. I researced many other brands and types , but felt I wanted to go with a company that I could trust. The only thing I don't like about the shuffle is that sometimes in my job(where i use it most) I am putting things away and lean the wrong way and accidentally push the button on the shuffle and change channels...this would not be a problem if i were only listening to music, but it messes me up when I am listening to podcasts. It would be nice if there was a FF button, but I just am more careful not to lean too far forward...I would recommend this to anyone who loves music and also loves listening to Coast to Coast am, but who can't stay up late to hear it...this helps me stay informned. Great little machine--still can't believe something so small can hold so much!
