Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Silver (6th Generation) OLD MODEL

Customer Review: My iPod Classic is Awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read through most of the reviews before purchasing my silver iPod Classic. Needless to say, it made me very nervous about buying one. But due to my previous experience with an iPod, I went on ahead and ordered it, and I am glad I did. I had an iPod Nano and loved it, but quickly ran out of hard drive space. I got another mp3 player, but I missed the ease of use of my iPod.

I love my new iPod Classic. It has worked perfectly since I bought it and has never lockup up my desktop. The weight of it is a big difference from my previous iPod, but I have gotten used to it.

Customer Review: Better than the 5G
Summary: 5 Stars

No outstanding improvements from the 5 and 5.5G but still an excellent purchase. I did notice it seems to process faster and the battery lasts longer. I wish I could be more specific but I don't normally watch videos or movies on my iPod so I don't have a very good estimate. The CoverFlow is ok but most of my album covers were missing and I haven't figured out the rhyme or reason behind that. With the new Apple merchandise, iTouch, iPhone, $235 is a very reasonable price for this, so if you don't have to have the absolute latest in technology this is definitely worth the purchase.

Customer Review: iPod has come a long way
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't want to upgrade from my ancient iPod, but a hardware failure gave me no choice. I have been delighted with my replacement, however. The 6G 80 GB iPod classic is a very elegant unit. Lovely screen. But the biggest plus is battery life. An amazing increase over my previous player. I have hundreds of songs, symphonies, operas, and all the Harry Potter books rattling around in about 1/4 of the classic's memory. Don't know how I'm going to fill up the rest. Bought an FM transmitter for the iPod when the CD player in my car jammed. Don't miss the CD unit at all now.

Customer Review: Chip Off the Old Block
Summary: 5 Stars

The 6th generation is a very nicely improved version of the 80 gb classic iPod. It is quite a bit thinner than the 2-year old unit I am replacing. The graphics are improved in various ways, such as you see the album covers while tunes are playing. The sound and the earbuds seem to be the same as on my earlier unit, though, no improvements noticeable in those. The one mistake I made was in buying an iSkin cover... it was sized for the older generation and this one rattles around in it... to big. So if you buy an iSkin, be sure you get one sized for the 6th generation.

Customer Review: Great gadget, great color, all the gigs I need
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this silver ipod classic to replace a black 5G that was stolen. For what it's worth, I like the silver color better. It doesn't show scratches as much as the black. 80 gig's is enough for my entire digitized music collection, a couple movies, and nearly a dozen TV episodes. Plus, Amazon sold this model for about $215 at the time I got it--though it's worth a list price at Apple. The only drawback to getting this ipod through Amazon is that you can't engrave it with your name, number, or email--but my first video ipod was engraved, and it still got stolen.
