Reading some of these reviews makes me laugh. Obviously, most of the curmudgeons here never had the joy of sliding an LP out of a cardboard sleeve (without touching the surface!), placing it on a turntable, spraying it with cleaner, brushing it off, turning on their stereo, then setting the needle carefully on the first groove (POP!) to be greeted with at most 6 songs before the record was over and the whole process had to be repeated. I say unto you all: grow up.
This amazing thing works like a charm. The screen is gorgeous and colorful. The controls and settings are easy to learn and adjust. And, in something smaller than a deck of cards, I can store every note ever recorded by the Grateful Dead, and every note that still exists of all the great Delta Blues artists, plus all the Beethoven symphonies and piano sonatas, and still have room for some movies. It makes me dizzy just thinking about it.

I love this new ipod. If you are like me and have a 5 or 6 year old ipod then this one is revolutionary! The ipod that I inherited from my father several years ago finally began showing its age. Although the old ipod still works, I felt that I should get a new one--one with color!! Imagine that. I think that the resolution on the screen is fantastic. I have actually downloaded tv shows for the ipod because of the great screen quality, although that is not initially what I thought that I would use the ipod for. i think the sound is way above the first or second generation ipods as well. It also feels to be made of better quality materials. I probably really wanted an Iphone, but I settled on this because I didn't want to pay to get out of my cell ontract and I actually use my ipod as a hard drive (being a teacher). I think that this is one of the best purchases that I have made.Customer Review: Excellent upgrade from 5G model

In one day of trying the new 80GB model IPOD, one can tell that the new model is well worth it. It offers almost three times the space, for one. It also is slightly smaller than the 5G 30GB model. There are also some features carried over from Itunes featured here, notably the coverview feature, which was rumored to either be in a firmware upgrade for current models or in the newer models. Well here it is and it's a neat little feature. Not highly neccessary, mind you, but fun to have on the ipod. My biggest praise for the new model (besides the space, of course), is that there is a faster response time on it. While the sleeker looking menus are nice and the games are cute (the music quiz one especially), it's the functionality that wins here. This continues the tradition of Ipods in creating the most user friendly MP3 player on the market.Customer Review: An awesome gadget!!! The 80 GB iPod classic ia winner!!! This awesome little device is the BOMB!!! With tons of space,(This baby can hold lots of music,I mean lots, and the main reason I bought this,no more bulky portable CD players that only let me listen to one album at a time!!!) Easy to use(the thumbwheel takes a while to get a hang of,but you'll get used to it!!!,but NOT recommended for young kids,one drop on the floor or one good whack could probably take it out of service for good!!! I just bought a clock radio that lets me dock mine so now I wake up to the music I want to wake up too!!! This baby is so small but hold so much,it will probably hold most of my CD collection,and I have a pretty large one!!! Never used it yet for movies,TV shows,or Podcasts,but maybe someday,I love mine for the music,It's a jukebox in the palm of my hands!!! Groovy!!! Two thumbwheels up!!! Way up!!! Five stars!!! This is an amazing ipod. I have had two before it and just love everything apple comes out with. Most compliaints begin with either a souchwheel problem, a software problem, or a video out problem which is stupid. The souchwheel is fine and maybe lags a little but it is breley noticceable and the only time it gets annoying is in games, other than that there is nothing wrong. Thee software was just updated to 1.0.3 and I am sure apple is on its way with more. Finally, is it really too much to get new cables or just buy/download a copy and burn it to a disk to use. I am shure all of the complainers have limewire.
The complaints are pointless, just get one and ignore them. Who really complains on amazon for stupid reasons? I can answer that, people without a life.
This is an amazing ipod and anyone would be happy with it.
