Customer Review: Just as good as brand new
Summary: 5 Stars

I just bought an Apple Certified Refurbished iPod (6th gen, 80gb) and it is just as good as a brand new iPod. Not to mention the fact that you can save about $70. I wasn't totally sure what to expect in a refurb. but what I got was a brand new looking (no scratches, dents, perfect condition in looks and function) iPod for 30% less than buying a new one. I couldn't be more pleased! In fact, I may consider other refurbished products in the future.

The reason being: Refurbished products are tested, each part must be fully operating before it can be given the stamp of "Refurbished". New products just off the assembly line could be defective and have parts that will hinder the product's performance. To me, it almost seems like getting a refurb. is more safe than going brand new.

Oh yeah, and the refurbished iPod comes with the same 1-year warranty a brand new iPod comes with. That made me feel a lot more secure about buying one refurbished. And if you still feel uneasy, you can also purchase the extended warranty, just like you can with a new one.

So overall, buying refurbished is a smart move, at least from Apple, since you can rest assured that you will be getting a quality product. Plus you're saving a few bucks. Who can argue with that?! :)

Customer Review: Expensive But Great Product
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this iPod for its ability to play videos, and it does that very well. Although the picture is small, the video is sharp. The headphones that come with the unit have very good audio quality. You probably won't want to watch movies on the small screen all the time,so there is an AV cable that allows you to attach the unit to your TV so you can watch movies on your TV. To make sure it's compatable, you should buy the cable from the iTunes store. At 80GB the iPod is large enough to hold all your music and also quite a few movies at the same time.
The only disadvantage is it only works with the iTunes software and it only plays music and videos purchased from iTunes. It won't work with Amazon Unbox or Movielink or any of the other download services. I have heard there is software out there than can convert other audio/video files to the iTunes file format, but I havn't tried that yet.
It charges while connected to your computer which is convenient, and I have found the battery life to be quite good.
It's expensive and there aren't many discounts out there. I found the best deal at Amazon at $249.95 with free shipping.
If you are looking for an all purpose player to play music and also movies, I think you would be pleased with this one.

Customer Review: A must have for Music Owners
Summary: 5 Stars

When I was looking for an MP3 player with so many on the market the main ones I was looking for was either an IPOD or Zune. I wanted something that could hold lots of songs as to me the idea of an MP3 player is the ability to take not some of your music but all of your music so I wanted something with a lot of memory space to be able to take all of my music which is quite extensive in my eyes. Looking at the Zune and IPOD for me I noticed that the IPOD operating system was a ton easier to use. My brother has a ZUNE and I have helped him put music onto the device for him and the difference between ITUNES and the ZUNE software is like night and day as for ease of putting the songs on your IPOD. The main differences also I noticed between this and the ZUNE besides the operating system on the players itself was 1. the screen size. The ZUNES screen is noticeably larger than the IPOD 2. Control of the unit. With The IPOD you use the wheel and scroll by rotating the wheel to the desired location where with the ZUne it is more of arrows you push making it a little easier to navigate. For me though the main reason I went with the Ipod over the Zune was 1. The price, 2. Itunes operating system, 3. Face it Apple has more experience in this field than ZUNE

Customer Review: Audio Study Made Easy
Summary: 5 Stars

I really don't know how I lived without it before. For years, the software for iTunes constantly froze and frustrated me. So, I bought several other MP3 players, but none of them were particularly satisfactory.

Finally, the iPod software is working well on my computer, but more importantly, a range of materials are now available for my iPod. I have downloaded free of charge the audio Bible and other religious texts from the website of my church -- which now has audio scriptures available in Portuguese and Spanish in addition to English!

I discovered Faith Through Hearing and was able to download Bibles in Japanese and Korean.

Then I discovered the membership on audible which includes a free daily audible download of Wall Street Journal.

My iPod will now plug into the new cars that are being produced and I have the mini speakers and bring it with me whenever I travel so I have a full collection of scriptures, audio books, music. This magic little device allows me to easily and comfortably wait for a doctor's appointment or a plane flight. The battery is so long, it can keep me entertained on transoceanic flights.

It's the greatest little gift to myself.

Customer Review: iPod with Dock
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the first iPod I've owned. While it's not my style to carry it around with buds in my ears, I bought it to work with my Yamaha home stereo system, and it is excellent in that role. The sound of the iTunes mp3's is as good as the original CD's, there is no mess of CD's to deal with any longer, and the iPod itself sits in a Yamaha Universal iPod Dock and can be controlled by the Yamaha remote with on-screen menus. I found it simpler to forego the on-screen option, as finding music and playlists directly on the iPod itself is quick and easy using the click-wheel. And don't forget that the electronic switching is faster, smoother, and quieter than CD turntable switching. I doubt that I will ever use the entire 80 GB capacity, something less would have been plenty, but at the price the high capacity is still a rational purchase. I had read a few negative reviews about this iPod version before I bought one, but now I wonder if these people have too much time on their hands. In my opinion this product is solidly and beautifully made, works perfectly, is easy to use, and well worth what Amazon charges for it. It seems quite durable, but I guess time will tell. For now I could not be more pleased.
