Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black (6th Generation) OLD MODELCustomer Review: WOW! Summary: 5 Stars
This is such a good ipod. Much better than the fourth gen. I bought this to replace my old 20GB 4th gen(no color screen) and all i can say is WOW. I like how the faceplate is now anodized aluminum, and not the cheap plastic that apple used to use. However, the back is just as bad as it was before. It still attracts scratches and fingerprints.
Some things that i like. The half menu with preview is a nice addition. If you go to fast on the menu button, it might go slow, but there is now an update that i downloaded today as soon as i got it that should fix that. It also maybe that its just hard drive based that causes this sluggishness.
There are a few problems though. I like the cover flow, but it is kinda sluggish. One thing i do not like is that there is not a wall charger included anymore. I also dont like that ipods no longer support firewire for connecting to computers. There is one more problem that i think might just be my dock, but this new ipod will not play through dock, only the top part. Now i cant connect it to my stereo using the dock, but o well.
Overall, the new iPod Classic is AMAZING! It seems like there are vista elements incorporated into the operation of this. I love how it is no longer shiny so fingerprints show up on the front. I am so glad i waited to get a new iPod untill now. The 5.5 gen would have been terrible. SO, if you need an mp3 player that is high capacity, this is the way to go. If this isnt big enough, than the 160GB would be adequate for you. ENJOY!!!
Customer Review: Completely worth every penny Summary: 5 Stars
Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black (6th Generation) OLD MODEL has got to be my favorite portable music, video, and photo device. The reason for me purchasing a iPod classic and not a iTouch is because I have always enjoyed watching movies more than anything else; ofcourse you can watch movies on a iTouch with a larger screen. But the highest amount of GB is about 26 GB on the iTouch.Unlike its predecessors the Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black (6th Generation) OLD MODEL has even greater battery life for watching movies, and will last about all day. Except playing games does lower the battery quicker because it requires more interface, and is just battery consuming. I have only about 25 GB space left over on my iPod.With all the movies, shows, music, pictures, and more. I use this iPod everywhere I go. While on the my way to College or just plugging it to my car. I have not hade any single problems with my iPod and will recommend this product to anyone who enjoys a quality product for your buck. Also purchased the iPod 30 or 80 GB iPod Classic Bundle 15 accessories. Was also worth every penny check it out if your deciding on this product. If you do enjoy movies and do not want to pay about 4.99 for each movie on iTunes. Then you might want to purchase a iPod Video Converter. I recommend Xilisoft Video Converter, but you might need to purchase a registration code. This product will save you in the long run of purchasing movies on iTunes. It will burn DVDs to your iPod in just a little amount of time with no extra payments needed.
Customer Review: The best hand's down. Summary: 5 Stars
If you like listening to your music on a high quality, durable, organized, excellent sound quality, sharp looking device look no further than Apple's IPOD. Pretty mushc any IPOD save the new nano is better than any other player you can find for sound quality alone, let alone space and organization. The Zune which I have also used has no where near the quality, sound quality, battery life or organization that an IPOD can provide. I-Tunes is great, fast, easy to use and "just works". Microsoft tried to copy this but failed, the zune software is slow, glitchy, unorganized and just a pain trying to sync the songs with your Zune and half the time if you delete a playlist it will delete the songs from the device as well so it sucks. The IPOD 80GB provides lots of space for all your music, videos and pictures and has incredable battery life compared to any other device I have used. The Ipod is very durable, mine has played flawlessly after some major hits and surpassed my expectations every time. I have even dropped this in a mud puddle and say the songs still playing beneath the mud, and one I retrieved it and cleaned if of it never missed a beat, this was amazing to me because I have gotten mare rain droplets on creative and Microsoft devices and they were instant toast. I have also seen them ran under water on youtube and still keep going without a hitch. This is by far the best mp3/video system you can buy, flawless performance.
Customer Review: The best thing every invented... period! Summary: 5 Stars
I was one of those people sick and tired of hearing everyone talking about the iPods. I like to do a lot of research on something before I buy it and it was between this and of course a Zune. I went with the iPod and realized why people were nuts over them. This is the best thing ever invented for me. There is nothing better, especially if you're a music lover.
The only thing I really don't get with how Apple put this together is the repeat. Just to repeat one song you have to go all the way back to the main menu just to repeat one song. There is a repeat function once you have hit the center button about four times, but it is only for shuffle and to repeat an entire album. I really don't see how hard it would be to just add the repeat function for just one song. Also, the CoverFlow can be slow as well as some of the other menus when trying to access songs. Those are the two main things that are flawed and should be fixed. As far as the radio goes if would be nice, but it's not important especially if you have something this size- you should have a sufficient amount of music to where the radio is useless.
All in all, this is worth every single penny. I would defiantly buy it again and recommend it (and since mine was stolen I will have to). Even though I have never experienced a Zune, I can still say with confidence that there is nothing better than an iPod. GET ONE!
Customer Review: Great for on the go Summary: 5 Stars
I'm at college frequently and sometimes I have several hours between classes. This is perfect for those times when nobody is around to talk to and you need some long term, or short term entertainment. The screen is a little small, but its not painful to watch. With an 80gb capacity, I managed to cram 600 hours of video onto this little guy, which will give you about 300 movies, or 800+ tv show episodes. You can cram probably double the amount of music on here if you don't care about top audio quality (as if you can get it through the regular ear buds anyways). The games are excellent, especially tetris, which has kept me addicted for many hours. You can listen to and skip through music while you play your games as well. It is the absolute best investment if you frequently travel or have a lot of downtime on the go, especially if you don't have the space for larger electronics like a laptop. I do not recommend using the itunes store for anything but games, however, as many of their products still come with DRM that will only allow you to play it on the ipod and your PC, which means when you want to buy a new player, you are out of luck. Also, I would grab a case, because this thing will get scrached quickly if you don't wrap it up. I recommend a silicon skin case. The 5.5G 30GB iPod cases fit decently if you can't find a cheap iPod Classic case.
