I guess its just another way for Apple to make more money, but with the newer generation iPods they don't include a wall adapter like they used to with the older generation iPods. So, if you travel a lot and don't have a car when you travel or a laptop, then the best thing for you is this adapter. That way you can still use your iPod all you want for your entire trip.Customer Review: Works like a charm.

It does just as you would expect. Very simple to use and worry free. You also get another iPod cable with the charger in case you ever need a backup. The only thing to consider is the price. There are third party adapters which will do the same thing for less money. Product works well. I can just plug it in and not have to use the computer ports just a regular outlet. My ipod wouldn't charge completely unless I was using my computer. My computer goes into a sleep mode and with this adapter I never have to worry about incomplete charges. This product also comes with a snap-off prong that connects to the power. If you buy Apple's world traveler kit you can also use this device outside of the United States. This product also includes a iPod/iPhone USB cable that can be used either with the plug, or connected to a USB port.
I've also used it to recharge other USB devices.

This charger is great for the Ipod shuffle. Most Ipod accessories require an adapter to use the shuffle since it uses a USB connection. Because this already uses a USB connection, it's very convenient. I keep this in my kitchen for easy charging. I agree with the other reviews though, this would not be handy for any of the other types of Ipods.
