I bought this product with the intention of using it to charge my iPod while travelling and not near a computer... It was quite perfect. Not only is it very small, the prongs fold into the body, but it is easy to use and worked great with a voltage adapter, as I was travelling internationally. Also turned out to be useful when someone in our house wants to charge an iPod without the risk of someone's computer altering songs. Overall great thing to have, and from amazon, it was about half as much as apple was charging for the same thing.Customer Review: Pricey But Worth It!

I have an iPod Shuffle and this charger works like a dream, it's great not to be tied to my computer.
It's fast, compact, light weight, and does exactly what it's supposed to.
I do wish Apple would include it with the Shuffle or its other iPods, however the nice thing about it is when I upgrade it will work with the new iPod.
True you can find much cheaper chargers but I'd rather spend the extra money for piece of mind, I don't want my Shuffle fried.

This should not be an option. Most people don't need to connect a 4Gb Nano iPod to their PC every day. So, where does it get recharged?
I plug the charger in by the shelfs where the keys usually are. So, when I go out, I unplug the iPod from the charger and wear it outside. When I come back in, I plug it back into the charger. It seems a natural. Why would anyone think this iPod USBPower Adapter (da' charger) is optional equipement?

Item is well designed, compact and easily carried for use when traveling. It adds a great option to charging an IPod when you do not care to carry your computer with you. Bought this to charge our second generation iPod Shuffle. Doesn't seem to be published anywhere that you can do this but got the idea from the Apple store. You can plug the 2.0 USB plug that came with the iPod (for connection to your computer) into this unit and plug it directly to an outlet for charging. A little expensive? Probably. Saves the headache of running the computer everytime I need a charge though!
