I've been a fairly casual runner for a few years. When I was given an iPod Nano as a gift, I figured why not throw in my $30 and give the Nike+ kit a try. I've had it for about 3 days, and I'm amazed how much I look forward to running now. Nike+ almost turns it into a game, where you can see how you've done and if it was better than last time, etc. I set up a "challenge" today with a friend who lives in another state -- first one to 25 miles. I'm eager to get started. On first use, I ran my typical 2.00 mile trek, and unfortunately, it registered as 2.58 miles. After calibration, I found it a lot more accurate. I cannot say enough good things about the Nike+! I already owned an ipod Nano and I bought two little shoelace pouches so I could swap out the transmitter as I needed and that is it! You just plug the receiver into the nano, decide what kind of run you want measured ie time, distance, basic, etc and push the center button of your nano and start running. When you get back to your computer you remove the transmitter and hook up your ipod to your 'puter to synch. On the Nike+ website it uploads and saves your runs, your time, it shows your average time and your time at each mile. You can enter specific routes, etc. Really, for $30 it is a dandy, extremely easy to use, piece of equipment!Customer Review: Nike + Ipod = Excellence

Awesome kit...no need for stopwatches or training diaries...this does it all!!! If you don't have the Nike shoe with the in sole chip compartment (whooohooo)...don't worry!! You can get an excellent neoprene case that will attach the chip to the shoe laces of your favorite shoe. If like to run and listen to music...the nano and Nike + system takes the running experience to a whole new level. Just need to complete the set-up with some good headphones. Loading the ipod data onto Nike + website when you're finished is simple to do...the graphs and charts make viewing your progress fun and inspiring! THe Nike+ system is a must have for any level runner. It has motivated me and helped me run further and faster than I would have not using the system. It's super-fun and informative to look at each run drawn out on the website. There are training programs on the nike plus site and you can challenge friends and other nike+ users in distance challenges and well as speed challenges. This is exactly what I needed to take my running to the next level without joining a running club. I prefer to run alone and this has helped me to do so AND push myself that bit further running with other people tends to do. Great product!Customer Review: HIGHLY MOTIVATIONAL

Regardless of any negative reviews this product functions flawlessly for me. It is so motivational to be able to set goals and work to see them achieved. I have used Nike+ with and without calibrating the sensor. I am 6 foot tall and I would say an average stride length. There was virtually no difference between calibrated and not. I verified distances with my car odometer to verify this observation. It is easy to use, easy to set up and works quite well with various shoe pouch products available so you don't really need to buy nike shoes to use it effectively. I've lost over 20 lbs. already. Buy it!!
