Good unit. Works like it should, just wish I would have gotten the wireless one.

Customer Review: THE MOUSE ENTERS THE MAZE . . .
Summary: 4 Stars

. . . but does it get out? We'll see after I point out the pros and cons:

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: To be honest, I did not like the Mighty Mouse when I first tried it out. It felt like there was some sort of learning curve one had to get through before getting comfortable with it. I actually remember switching back to a "normal" Logitech mouse a few times simply because I had such a hard time getting used to the Mighty Mouse scroll ball and everything else.

PROS: As it turns out, after using the Mighty Mouse for a month or two, I actually like the scroll ball and I haven't had any problems with it getting unresponsive. Will definitely try the paper trick mentioned elsewhere if that does happen.
The side buttons are great for the Expose feature, even though I don't use it that much.
I also like the size of the mouse--smaller than a normal mouse and larger than a "wimp mouse" (those little micro mice you see for laptops).
The small cable (~2 feet) is also nice. Call me old-fashioned, but I like my electronics with the cable still attached. You can't have a mouse without a tail, right?

CONS: Not many, but I do think it is a bit tedious having to make sure that you press on the outside-most part of the mouse to guarantee a left- or right-click. If you touch anywhere near the scroll ball there is no telling what might happen. For this same reason I would not use this mouse for gaming.

DOES THE MIGHTY MOUSE GET OUT OF THE MAZE?: Yes, but not without getting a little lost.

Customer Review: Good mouse, some quirks.
Summary: 4 Stars

The mighty mouse is an interesting mouse that takes some getting used to, but is a good choice because of its scroll ball. The scroll ball allows you to scroll quickly and accurately, not just vertically and horizontally, but at any angle. This is handy when working in applications like Photoshop, and or on computers with smaller screens. I much prefer the scroll ball to scroll wheels, even ones that allow you to scroll horizontally. It offers enough buttons for most users, and is good for left-handed users.

The mouse has a few quirks which keep me from giving it a 5. First, the scroll ball will get dirty periodically, causing it to stop scrolling in one or more directions. This is an annoyance, but can also be fixed easily by wiping the ball with rubbing alcohol. Second, the right click is a little counterintuitive and takes some getting used to. A right click will only register if no fingers are touching the left side of the mouse. This means you must lift your left finger while right clicking. You do get used to it though, so it's not a huge issue, and on the plus side, it keeps inexperienced computer users from right-clicking accidentally.

I would recommend this mouse to left handed users, and for users who are looking for a simple mouse and don't mind cleaning it occasionally.

Customer Review: Apple Mouse with Scrolling Ball
Summary: 4 Stars

After 3 1/2 years, the scroll ball stopped working 100% of the time, so I bought this replacement. The cord attaching mouse to the computer is actually shorter, which is temporarily annoying, but my mouse is quite close to the screen anyway so it doesn't hamper me much. Plus, since I'm using that scroll ball to move the page, I don't need the cord to be really long. That's my only issue with the particular mouse I ended up with. I never saw a specific cord length mentioned in the listing, but I could've missed it. Just look out for that. Otherwise, it works great and I've had absolutely no problems. I've heard that the scroll ball wears out on this one after 3 years, so be expecting it.
