Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple Magic Mouse

Customer Review: Great little mouse!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this mouse as a replacement for my older wireless Apple Mighty Mouse. Upon initial use, the look and feel have been greatly improved and the slim design is more comfortable to use. The removal of the rubber center track ball is also a welcome improvement, as this was one of the failing components in the old mouse; dust and contaminants would often clog the roller.

The other nice feature that I like was the pure plug and play ability to quickly add this mouse via blue-tooth settings. I am currently running OS X 10.6.2 and this mouse did not require any special software or configuration to operate. Bonus!

Finally, the magic of this mouse is that it senses your finger movements and equates those to Left, Right, Scrolling, or zooming (when used in conjunction with the cntrl key) actions.

This mouse is definitely worth the money and yet another ingenious product by Apple!

Customer Review: Best Mouse Ever! Hands Down!
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse - is so much better than any other mouse! I have no idea why you would buy anything else. I have been using the Logitech white Mac-Like mouse for a year and have never really liked it. Form is not nice - issues with connectivity and the wheel is starting to stick a lot. This new Mac - Magic Mouse is so perfect! Apple really got this right - it will take over the market and again - force everyone else to play catch up! Once people use this touch mouse, they will be amazed. The nice thing is - I use this for my presentations - like a hand held mouse. The only thing they need to add now is the ability to control the pointer while holding the mouse for presentations - that will be in a software update I'm sure. I can't say enough how much I like this. I bought this at Best Buy for $69 and Apple Store sells it for $69 too - I think it's priced perfect for a Blue Tooth mouse! Trust me - you will like it!

Customer Review: Favorite Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't really get the hype behind the "magic mouse" when it first was introduced by Apple. Naturally because at that time I was a PC user. However, now that I exclusively use Macs, it's pretty awesome.

First off, there are no buttons, just a smooth surface to run your fingers across. No "clicky" wheel to scroll, just a smooth swipe of the finger. You can program it to have a right finger button, which I use a lot as a PC transplant. There are various motions you can use with your fingers, ie. forward/backward in the web browser, change the image your viewing in iPhoto.

My only complaint is that it does eat up double AA batteries. I would recommend buying some rechargables that will save you money in the long run. Also the shape is slightly odd if you are used to bulkier mice. But in the end I'd give a try at an Apple store before buying if you are very concerned.

Customer Review: Productive Mouse!
Summary: 5 Stars

While I have a few gripes about the ergonomics, I'm still giving the Magic Mouse 5 stars because it's simply the most productive mouse I've ever used. I use it with a 24" Samsung monitor and an Apple wireless keyboard. I have three other mice and the Magic Mouse can get the job done with noticeably less effort. I now have much of the functionality of the MacBook Pro trackpad when my MacBook is closed and docked under my monitor. This mouse is a keeper!

I have two minor complaints: 1) the case provided, while attractive, is worthless for travel in my briefcase and 2) the edge of the mouse is just a bit sharp, making it feel somewhat unpleasant. Others have complained about its low profile but I believe the designers wanted to make room to move one's fingers on the top of the case.

Oh yes, I'm also looking forward to the release of the Windows drivers.

Customer Review: Awesome mouse!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse is so sweet. I just got it yesterday and I will never use a traditional mouse again. For real, this device is so nice with my macbook, I mean it make the work flow so much smoother and faster. The zoom feature is awesome in ableton live, photoshop, the internet, hell it is awesome to use in everything. Honestly if you are considering buying a bluetooth mouse, buy the magic mouse. The mighty mouse is nice and so are some of the others but none of them, NONE OF THEM compete with the magic mouse. The Magic mouse is a nice comfortable weight and size (about the size of an iphone, about half the weight of an iphone). The only thing is that it is not shaped like a traditional mouse (rounded), its sleek and arrow dynamic design encourages the user to hold it correctly for it functions like the scroll and swipe features. BUY IT!
