Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple Magic MouseCustomer Review: Opinions...Everyone has one. Summary: 5 Stars
This is an updated review on the Magic Mouse... I made a review about opinions and how others portrayed theirs. I stand to be corrected on a few. I will make this quick and painless...
Pros: Sleek, Clean, Dream-like, Accurate, Smooth, Comfortable.
Cons: Not the mac usb mouse replacement. Lacks the 4th mouse button. Thats it!
Improvements: The number one would be adding a 4th button feature; Second, make it function like the trackpad of the Macbook; Third, configurable 1st or 3rd party software. The way this object functions makes it seem to have an undeniable future and almost limitless-like functions.
I recommend this mouse if you are into technology, if you like different, if you have already felt this mouse in your hands.
I do not recommend this mouse if you love the 4th button feature (as I do), if you are closed minded to the structure and ergonomics AND function, and lastly, if you do not need another mouse.
Happy Mouse Hunting!
Customer Review: Superb technology Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to use with my MacBook Pro and have been really pleased from the start. It's a lovely looking thing, as you would expect from Apple, but it's also highly functional and intuitive. It has various gesture based actions built in but if you want more functions and programmable functions, you can download the free "MagicPrefs" application from either the Apple website or the MagicPrefs website. The MagicPrefs application has numerous options and custom settings including other gestures and shortcut settings.
I've also found the standard settings for the tracking speed and touch sensitivity to be perfect for my use. I've not experienced any false clicks or gestures so far. I find the positioning is fine despite the low profile and the weight is nice. You can switch it off when it's not in use, so remember to do this between uses to avoid wasting the batteries.
I'm really pleased with it and would recommend it to other Mac users.
Customer Review: Who'da thunk I'd love a mouse??? Summary: 5 Stars
I love this little critter!!! I haven't used a mouse since I went to a laptop! But, when I decided I "needed" Photoshop, I took the advice of a friend who said I would thank myself if I used a mouse instead of a track pad. Being a Mac, I bought the Magic Mouse (did you notice that it's cheaper than the Mighty Mouse?). It's adorable and it's a really pleasant size in my small hands. Light weight and fairly low profile. (It's petite: approximately the size of an iPhone and not much thicker. It works well, and the touch surface is an amazing plus. If you want to personalize it, you can download the "Magic Prefs" application (for free). Conserves battery life really well, too (I always forget to turn it off...but it goes to sleep after a while; I use my computer A LOT and the (AAA) batteries are at 88% after almost a month). Love it. (I use it primarily for photo and layout editing; I don't do ANY gaming, so I can't comment on it's use for that.)
Customer Review: Big improvement over previous mouse Summary: 5 Stars
I had a mighty mouse for awhile with my iMac, and I hated it. The scroller kept clogging up and stopped working. The side buttons were dislocated and kept opening dashboard up. Overall, it was not a good mouse, even though it looked cool. This one looks even better and has cool multi touch technology. The scrolling never stops working because its touch sensitive. Also, there are no side buttons to hit by accident. And even better, its wireless (although battery life isn't very good). Overall, I love how you can scroll, and flick through photos and web pages with the touch sensitive mouse. It also has the same sensors to tell whether its a right or left click. Overall its good, except that it will sometimes inadvertently scroll, especially in google maps. Overall though, this is a huge improvement on Apples part and is a huge recommendation for an upgrade for Apple fans who hate their mighty mice. This expensive, but amazing mouse is totally worth it.
Customer Review: The Most Beautiful Device Ever! Summary: 5 Stars
The Magic Mouse from Apple has to be the most beautiful piece of device/gadget I have ever seen and owned period. The design of most mice today is so ergonomically driven in return yields designs that are not so aesthetically pleasing. The Magic Mouse is different. It seems as Jonathan Ive has totally neglected about ergonomics. He just went ahead with sculpting a form to make the most beautiful device ever. I have to admit, it took me two days to get used to the device, and at one point I even thought of switching back to the old Mighty Mouse or a Logitech Mouse. But then I decided to continue using the Magic Mouse for a few more days. To my surprise, I've gotten used to it, and grow to like how my hand hover over it effortlessly. To those who thinks the Magic Mouse is uncomfortable, give it a few more days. Trust me you'll find that this is not only the most beautiful device, it is quite comfortable once your hand readjust to it.
