My adaptor actually came with the purchase of my MacBook so I didn't have to buy this separately. Maybe that's why I like my adaptor so much more than most of the other reviewers. Mine doesn't turn hot or hasn't melted (yet?)!
It can be inserted into the MacBook either way - meaning it's never upside down. There is a magnetic pull to it so it easily inserts. The light is "red" while it's powering up your MacBook and turns green once it's done.
It also comes with this nifty hook thing where you can wrap the cord around it (similar to a vacuum cleaner how you wind up your power cord around the two hooks). So far I'm very pleased with it!

Just to counter some of the negative press on this thing: I have two of these and have had no problems with either one. No overheating, breaking, etc. One of them travels and I'm constantly winding up the cord, folding it up, packing, unpacking, and otherwise handling the adapter ungently. Never had any trouble with it. Am thinking about getting another one (to leave at work).Customer Review: Good!

Works great with my macbook! The charger may have a difficult time staying the in wall though, I would recommend using the adapter extender piece that most macbooks come with. If your Apple MacBook adapter is broken, this is a good choice. Missrepresentation of product brand. This is not an Apple product. Paid for Apple Magsafe 60W power Adapter and received a no-fril adapter. Adapter does not have Apple logo on it. Howerver, it is still working very well.
