Customer Review: iTunes integration and Print Server!
Summary: 5 Stars

I initially bought a refurbished model just so I could stream music to my upstairs office from my home theater PC in the living room. Using the iTunes remote on my iPhone, I can control which "zones" the music plays in. Right now this just consists of the computer in the living room and the airport express in the office but I plan on getting more airport expresses.

It also acts as a wifi repeater extending my wifi coverage. I have my linksys wifi router in the basement and this (wired) in my second floor and I now get great reception anywhere in my house. I'm thinking of getting another one to put in my back yard along with some outdoor speakers, just have to figure out how to weatherproof the whole thing.

When I purchased it, I did not realize it would share my printer as well. I just plugged in my USB printer and now it's shared on my network!

If you just want another access point, this is probably a little overkill but I really like it's integration with iTunes. Plus if you have an iPod touch or iPhone, the iTunes remote really makes this shine because you can remotely turn on/off zones and play/pause without actually being near the computer.

Customer Review: Typically great Apple product!

Started switching over to Mac/Apple products 2 years ago to help ease the pain of trying to keep my PC home network up and running. I've not looked back.

I bought this for the Air Tunes feature and to extend the signal of my Airport Extreme Base Station. Two minute set-up for someone mildly familiar with home networks- maybe five minutes for a newbie. I'm somewhere in between- I'm no computer tech by any stretch. Instant recognition by the router, most time consuming part was running the audio cable to my amp. Instant iTunes compatibility with my iMac, as well as our two PC laptops (waiting for them to die a slow, painful death so I can replace them both with MacBooks.)

Oh, and did I mention GREAT product support from Apple? I've used it once via telephone tech support, while setting up my Base Station, and it was one of the best customer support experiences I've had in a LONG time. I was speaking to a friendly Tech within a minute of dialing the number- no lie!

Yes, their stuff is a bit pricier, but well worth it, because their products don't come with the headaches that are inherent with owning a PC. They just WORK.

Customer Review: I'm Thrilled!

I received this little device yesterday. I bought it because I wanted to play my iTunes music on my Bose Wave system. After work, 11:30 PM, I opened the box, and unwrapped the device. It looks exactly like my MacBook Pro AC power connector. I connected it to my Bose using the Belkin Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug/2-RCA Plugs (6ft), also purchased through Amazon. I installed the software, consulted the instructions for specific setup directions, and viola, I was surrounded by glorious music. Total time from opening the box to glorious music - 17 minutes.

Before I found this device on Amazon I didn't know connecting to my Bose wirelessly was possible. I connect my laptop to the Internet through a DSL wireless modem. The AirPort Express recognized my network and "joined" it. I'm only a tech person if things work like they're supposed to. This device worked perfectly with very little effort, and less technical knowledge, on my part. I'm writing this review, listening to my music, amazed at the technology. This device will work with any powered speakers, and I plan on buying some speakers for other areas of my home. Great product!

Customer Review: Expanded Wireless System in House instantly
Summary: 5 Stars

We have an Apple Time Machine hooked up to the big computer in the basement and a floating laptop. The problem was that the laptop couldn't be used upstairs on the other end of the house. I didn't want to get another cable modem so I tried getting an airport express. It did take a bit of tinkering, even though Apple makes things very easy, to get this set up into our wireless network. I had to reset the time machine and the AE and start over a few times with adding this AE to that wireless network) via the software that comes with it, but I eventually got it working- the problem might have been someone taking it out of the outlet like the wife or kids, but I don't want to repeat it to find out. You can just plug this into ANY outlet in your house if you have a base station already set up and run the software - bango- you can expand your network. You don't even have to put any cords into this AE for it to work. Not exactly idiot proof, but if you have even a modicum of computer experience you can figure out how to add this to your wireless system. Thank God for Apple Computers. Once you go Mac you'll never go back to PC.

Customer Review: Awesome solution for a stubborn problem!
Summary: 5 Stars

Kudos once again to Apple! I live in a condo development where I am competing against several nearby networks for bandwidth and airwaves. While my Airport Extreme Base Station was efficient at what it is designed to do, no router could have conquered the issue that occasionally would degrade my signal strength while using my iPad in the family room. My Airport Extreme is in my office, and due to logistics, could not place it high enough up on a shelf for optimal range.

So, as a result of my research, I concluded a great solution would be to simply pop for the $99 and get the Express to use as a range extender. It works perfectly and now I enjoy a solid signal at all times and I'm ruling the airwaves! I had no problem with set up but since I was tentative in one area I DID call Apple; they responded right away with a dedicated network specialist and helped me conclude set up and it took less than 5 minutes. Just plug it in midway to any AC outlet between your listening area and where your Airport Extreme Base station resides and you're in business. Solid piece of engineering once again by Apple.
