Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station MB053LL/A [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: Works As Designed... Summary: 5 Stars
The Apple Airport Extreme Base Station "works as designed." What more could be asked? The setup was simple and I was able to connect my wired MacPro and my wireless MacBook Pro in just a few minutes. It has been in service for a month without my even noticing it. I connect to the internet through a high-speed wireless access point, which is connected to the router. Later, I connected a new Brother multi-function laser printer to the base station so I could share it with both systems, wired and wireless.
It might not be the cheapest unit in town, but the "hassle factor" was basically zero!
Customer Review: Pricey but a good deal anyway. Summary: 5 Stars
This is definitely a high-end router... but it is worth every cent. Setup is ridiculously easy under both OSX and WinXP, signal strength is excellent and reaches quite far, and is very reliable. The unit's design is exactly what one should expect from Apple- simple, durable, and dependable. There aren't any antennae to be whacked and broken by somebody's elbow, and the one-piece rubber base keeps it from slipping off the table when somebody's foot catches the cord.
Routers are one of those things that just become invisible when they work properly; this one does exactly that.
Customer Review: Airport Extreme working well Summary: 5 Stars
I installed this several weeks ago, and have had no problem with it since then. The setup was a breeze on my Mac. The install program walked me through every step. That was far easier than the manual installs I have had to do in the past on my Mac for other routers.
The range and speed are better than the 802.11-g routers I've used in the past. The security set-up was easy and worked great with the wireless devices I run.
Overall, I'm happy. I was able to install the Airport Extreme base station, then forget that it was even there. That's how I think technology should work.
Customer Review: The best out there Summary: 5 Stars
Bought it 5 weeks ago. It is awesome router. Slim sleek and beautiful design. The packaging is Apple legendary. The setup was a breeze. The build quality shows as soon as you pickup the box at the store. I had a linksys earlier. It was a a/b/g and was looking to buy a "n" router. Reviewed the cisco, new linksys routers, etc. Finally narrowed down to airport extreme. Works perfectly as advertised. Look and feel is phenomenal. I definitely recommend this. I have win xp laptop, iPad and a personal built win 7 pc. All connected fine in addition to the iPhones.

Customer Review: AirPort Extreme Summary: 5 Stars
I have had several different routers in the past this is the first that has compelled me to actually write a review. We used to have a saying in the Navy "Don't want to hear about the Labor pains, just want to see the Baby." I am certain that there is a more politically correct way to say it now, but the point is this baby delivers! Some other routers require constant resetting making VOIP phones or a home Wifi network impractical. This was a breeze to set up (and I am not a Tech Guru) and just like all other Apple gear it JUST WORKS as it should.
